Silent Hill 2 has dropped recently and is quickly rising to become a fan favorite by offering enhanced visuals and refined gameplay while preserving the haunting atmosphere of the original 2001 psychological horror classic.
The returning players of the classic can now enjoy new puzzles to sharpen and apply their wits upon. One of these new puzzles is the Toluca Weights puzzle, which happens to have many doors to open.
1. How can the Weights & Scales puzzle be solved in the Silent Hill 2 remake?
To solve the weights and scales puzzle in Silent Hill 2-
- Head to the Chapel in Toluca Prison 1F and collect the Heaviest Weight, then head to the Yard for the weighing scales.
- Place the Heaviest Weight on the right scale and the existing weight on the left to unlock the Headless Serpent door near cell A6.
- Solve the generator puzzle in the Witness Room by flipping the switches to obtain the Medium Weight from the Death Chamber.
- Use the Medium, Heaviest, and Starter weights on the right scale to unlock the Hornless Ox door near cell A1.
- Retrieve the Block D Key from the Guardroom, then collect the ‘Heavy’ weight from the Showers.
- Place the Heavy, Heaviest, and Medium Weights on the right scale, with the Starter Weight on the left to open the Eyeless Boar door in Block B.
- Find the Lightest Weight in Cell F6 of the Basement and use it to unlock the Execution Lever and finish the puzzle.
There are a few doors that have to be crossed in the Toluca Prison puzzle.
The entire quest is a set of puzzles leading to the final puzzle. You must open the four beast figure engraved doors and complete the final puzzle.
2. How to open the Headless Serpent Door?
Head to the Chapel in Toluca Prison 1F to find the Heaviest Weight. Once you’ve picked it up, head to the Yard to access the scales puzzle.
For the first scales puzzle, place the Heaviest Weight on the right scale and the existing weight on the left. This will unlock the Headless Serpent door, allowing you to enter the area near cell A6.
3. How to open the Hornless Ox Door?
The second puzzle is unlocking the Hornless Ox door. Navigate to the Witness Room; you’ll encounter a generator puzzle.
Solve this puzzle by flipping the switches in this order: 6-4-5-1-3-2 for the Standard difficulty and 4-5-2-1-3-6-7 for the Hard difficulty.
You will then be able to access the Death Chamber, collect the Medium Weight, return to the scales puzzle, and add the Medium, Heaviest, and Starter weights to the right scale. Doing so will unlock the door.
4. How to open the Eyeless Boar?
Next, obtain the Block D Key from the Guardroom and head to the Showers to collect the Heavy Weight. This weight will be essential for the next part of the puzzle.
For the Eyeless Boar door in Block B, use the Heavy, Heaviest, and Medium Weights on the right scale, placing the Starter Weight on the left. Doing this will activate the mechanism and open the door.
5. How to open the Wingless Dove Door?
Head to the Administrative Section to find the Upper Floor Key in the Infirmary. Type “SICK” on the typewriter in the Warden’s Office to unlock the Light Weight.
Place all weights except the Medium Weight on the left scale to unlock the Wingless Dove door.
6. Final Scale Puzzle
For the final part of the puzzle, head to the Prison Basement to find the Lightest Weight in Cell F6. This weight is the final piece needed for the puzzle.
Head to the place with the scales and place the Lightest, Light, and heaviest weight on the left scale, while the Starter, Medium, and Heaviest weights go on the right scale.
Once you have placed the weights, use the dial to unlock the Execution Lever for the Gallows Puzzle to complete the puzzle. This marks your progress in the eerie Toluca Prison.
7. About Silent Hill 2 Remake
Silent Hill 2 Remake is an upcoming survival horror video game developed by Bloober Team and published by Konami. The game is set to be released on PlayStation 5 and Windows on 8th October, 2024.
It is a remake of the 2001 video game of the same name and will be the first major installment in the Silent Hill franchise since Silent Hill: Downpour in 2012.
