Find the Princess Figurines and Solve the Music Box Puzzle- Silent Hill 2 Remake

Silent Hill 2 is filled with mysteries and puzzles that are very much engraved within the storyline. With each step you take in the game, you will find a puzzle which is quite addictive. One such puzzle is found in the Lakeview Hotel. 

The place might seem quiet and peaceful, but it is filled with monsters. In that place, you will find a music box missing some pieces. To solve that, you must navigate through the entire hotel, which can be time-consuming if done incorrectly. 

1. How to solve the Music Box puzzle in Silent Hill 2 Remake?

Follow the steps below to solve the Music Box puzzle in Silent Hill 2 Remake–

• Access the Music Box using the Ornamental key.
• Locate the three missing Princess figurines and install them in the Music Box. 
• There will be three slots to put the Figurines and four plates to move. Rotate all the plates so the lines match the Figurine and the exit way next to the plate. 
• Turn the keys in the correct order so that the Figurines can enter the small doors. 
• When the mechanisms are wound, the three princesses will enter the doors, solving the puzzle.

Players can find the Ornamental Key in the “Check” reception area just southeast of the music box; it is under the counter and bundled with the key to room 312.

The Snow White Figurine is located in Room 201, the Cinderella Figurine in the Conference Room and the Little Mermaid Figurine in the Basement of Venus Tears Bar. 

2. Location of the Princess figurines

2.1 Snow White Figurine

Players must solve the mystery of the mirror puzzle at Lakeview Hotel to obtain the Snow White figurine. The puzzle is in Room 202, and solving it will unlock Room 201, where the Snow White Figurine is located.

2.2. Cinderella Figurine

The Cinderella Figurine is inside the fireplace in the Conference Room on the Third Floor of Lakeview Hotel. To unlock the fireplace, you will need two keys: the key to Room 107 and the Fireplace Key. 

The key to Room 107 is on top of the fireplace in the conference room. Once you have the key, enter Room 107 and head to the garden. The fireplace key is outside on the pavilion. 

After obtaining the Fireplace Key, return to the Conference Room and use it to open the fireplace. Inside, you will find the Cinderella Figurine.

2.3. Little Mermaid Figurine

Players must obtain the Hotel Safe Code to get the Basement Key and access the basement level, where the Little Mermaid figurine is located. 

To access the basement from Lakeview Hotel 1F, use the code 7414 on the Break Room safe to get the basement key. Once you have the key, you can access the basement. Collect the Pump Valve from the Maintenance Room and head to the boiler room. 

To gain access, use the valve outside the Boiler Room, pick up the Venus Tears Bar key, and turn off the gas inside the bar using the valve. Then, investigate the broken jukebox in the bar to get the Little Mermaid figurine.

3. Music Box Puzzle Solution

Once you’ve returned all the figurines and set them up, you can manipulate the circular sections to direct the paths of the figurines. There are three slots for the figurines and four plates to manoeuvre. 

The objective is to ensure that each princess can reach one of the doors simultaneously. To do so, you’ll need to twist the three keys and activate the motion for each princess. Follow the provided pattern to solve the puzzle in one go.

• First Key – turn 7 times.
• Second Key – turn 5 times.
• Third Key  – turn 1 time.

After solving the puzzle, you will receive a key to access the third-floor corridor of Lakeview Hotel, unlocking a new area in the hotel to advance the story.

4. About Silent Hill 2 Remake

Silent Hill 2 Remake is an upcoming survival horror video game developed by Bloober Team and published by Konami. The game is set to be released on PlayStation 5 and Windows on 8th October, 2024.

It is a remake of the 2001 video game of the same name and will be the first major installment in the Silent Hill franchise since Silent Hill: Downpour in 2012.
