The highly anticipated Hogwarts legacy is finally here. The game contains a bunch of exciting mysteries to discover around the famous Hogwarts castle and the nearby grounds. Many of these mysteries are locked behind the arithmetic puzzle doors with creature symbols.
In these puzzles, players must find the correct number/creature to substitute “?” and “??” symbols so that all three small numbers add up to create the bigger number in the middle.
The arithmetic door puzzles can be easily solved with the help of a cheat sheet found in the Divination classroom, depicting the creature with the correct numerical value required to create the number in the middle.
This cheat sheet is handy, so getting it early in the game is recommended. In the Divination Classroom, head up to the rafters at the location of Floo Flame, then take the first right and find this cheat sheet in a box next to the blackboard.
The cheat sheet depicts 10 creatures and all of them represent a numerical value:
0 – Beast
1 – Unicorn
2 – Goat
3 – Three-headed Snake
4 – Owl
5- Five-legged creature
6 – Lizard
7 – Squid
8 – Spider
9 – Hydra

All Puzzle Doors’ Locations in Hogwarts Legacy
There are 11 Arithmetic puzzle doors in Hogwarts legacy. Players can find them in the following locations:
- Ravenclaw Tower

1Ravenclaw Tower
The Ravenclaw tower door is right under the staircase next to a knight statue. If you get sorted in the Ravenclaw house, this may be the first puzzle door you encounter in the game.
The Ravenclaw tower door puzzle can be solved by turning the “?” block to the owl (4) and turning the “??” block to the five-legged creature (5).
2Grand Staircase Tower
The second puzzle door can be found in the Grand Staircase Tower by walking right up the stairs.
The Grand Staircase Tower door puzzle can be solved by turning the “?” block to the lizard (6) and turning the “??” block to the squid (7).
3Grand Staircase
This puzzle door is located right next to the Grand Staircase fast travel point.
The Grand Staircase door puzzle can be solved by turning the “?” block to the beast (0) and turning the “??” block to the five-legged creature (5).
4Library Annex Door 1
Fast travel to the Divination Classroom and go through the door. Walk on the wooden platform and take the first right to reach this door.
The Library Annex door 1 puzzle can be solved by turning the “?” block to the owl (4) and turning the “??” block to the snake (3).
5Library Annex Door 2
If you follow the hallway that opens by solving the previous puzzle, you will find yourself in a room with two more puzzle doors.
The Library Annex door 2 puzzle can be solved by turning the “?” block to the owl (4) and turning the “??” block to the five-legged creature (5).
6Library Annex Door 3
This door is in the same room that is accessible by solving the first Library Annex door.
The Library Annex door 3 puzzle can be solved by turning the “?” block to the lizard (6) and turning the “??” block to the unicorn (1)
7Library Annex Central Hall Door
The Central Hall puzzle door is located near the Potions Classroom fast travel point.
The Central Hall door puzzle can be solved by turning the “?” block to the spider (8) and turning the “??” block to the snake (3).
8Potions Classroom
Walk through the doors in the Potion Classroom and go downstairs to find a locked level 1 door. Unlock it to find another puzzle door inside.
The Potion Classroom puzzle can be solved by turning the “?” block to the goat (2) and turning the “??” block to the unicorn (1).
9Astronomy Wing
The Astronomy Wing puzzle door is right behind the Charms Classroom fast travel point.
The Astronomy Wing door puzzle can be solved by turning the “?” block to the goat (2) and turning the “??” block to the squid (7).
10The Great Hall
Fast travel to The Great Hall, take a left, and walk down the hallway to find this puzzle door.
The Great Hall door puzzle can be solved by turning the “?” block to the spider (8) and turning the “??” block to the snake (3).
11Hospital Wing
The Hospital Wing puzzle door will be accessible after completing The Caretakers Lunar Lament mission of the main questline.
The Hospital Wing door puzzle can be solved by turning the “?” block to the beast (0) and turning the “??” block to the hydra (9).
