Quick Turn was one of the most useful features in God of War (2018) and it makes its return in God of War Ragnarok as well. Quick Turn allows you to look around instantaneously and it comes in really handy when in combat.
You can Quick Turn by holding down L1 and pressing down on the D-pad, which is located on the left side of your controller, in God of War Ragnarok. Quick Turn is extremely useful in combat when you’re being attacked by enemies from all sides.
Can you change how to Quick Turn in God of War Ragnarok?
If you’re not comfortable with the default settings to Quick Turn in God of War Ragnarok, you can change it by heading to Controller Remapping settings and changing it to Left Analog Stick & L3. With this, you can now hold back the Left Analog Stick and press L3 simultaneously to do a Quick Turn.

When should you perform a Quick Turn in God of War Ragnarok?
Quick Turn is most useful when you’re facing enemies from all sides. It can be used during any combat sections, be it on smaller enemies or a boss battle. When a boss rushes you and tries to get a drop on you from behind, that’s when Quick Turn becomes handy.
Having to hold down L1, which is the Shield button, and press down on the D-pad makes it incredibly useful as you can instantly open your Shield after performing a Quick Turn. Some enemies have the tendency to rush past you and attack you from behind. In this situation, performing a Quick Turn allows you to spot the enemy quickly as well as block any incoming attack using your Shield.
