In Black Myth: Wukong, you will need to craft almost every weapon. The recipe for which calls for ingredients. While some ingredients like Silk can be easily obtained, there are a few rare items which you have to take down Yaoguai rulers. However, the result is undoubtedly worth it.
The Gold Tree Core is a rare item which will be available towards the end of Chapter 4. You can use it to craft weapons like the Spikeshaft Staff and Spider Celestial Staff. There are four ways in which you can get it:
- upon completing Chapter 3.
- defeat Yaoguai in Chapters 4 and 5.
- open rare chests at the end of Chapter 4.
- purchase it from Keeper’s Shrine.
How to complete Chapter 3?
As a reward for completing Chapter 3 in Black Myth: Wukong, players will receive their first Gold Tree Core.
How to open chests in Chapter 4
At the end of Chapter 4, you will come across several unopened chests. Go through as many as you can to find the Gold Tree Core.
Defeat Yaoguai Kings and Queens in Chapters 4 and 5
Yaoguai Chiefs have a decent drop rate for rare items. If your luck will have it, you will receive it pretty soon after a few boss fights. Else, you need to complete every boss fight, including the optional and secret ones to boost your chances. (No wonder this item is so rare!)
Shop at Keeper’s Shrine
Every Keeper’s Shrine is different and has a distinct inventory. However, the Gold Tree Core can only be purchased once you reach Chapter 5. It costs 900 Will for one. There is a buy limit though.
How to use Gold Tree Core?
Gold Tree Core is used to craft Spikeshaft Staff and Spider Celestial Staff.
Spikeshaft Staff
Spikeshaft Staff lets the user continuously gain Focus briefly after Seeing Through the enemy.
Gentleness endears, harshness estranges.

- Gold Tree Core x4
- Refined Iron Sand x8
- 30000 Will
Spider Celestial Staff
It is unlocked after beating Violet Spider. Hit every successful hit with Heavy attack, it boosts Healing. In the Poisoned state, it hits enemies with Poison Bane.
