The vast map of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla provides the player several ultimate exploring opportunities and a densely immersed gaming experience. Along with the massive map, the game has a deep storyline with tons of quests, side quests, and Items to collect.
In addition to this, there are many things so well hidden inside that they feel like a myth. One such thing is some special quests called the Avenge Quests.
Avenge Quests are the meeting point between single-player and multiplayer gameplay. It begins when you pass by an area where another player died in combat, you can avenge that player by eliminating the enemies that killed them.
It becomes important for a player to get these quests as the weekly challenge of Ubisoft connect, ‘Hall of the Slain’ requires a player to avenge 10 players.
To start an avenge quest, select ‘Interact’ while next to the other player’s body. A Skull and Axe icon will mark the dead player’s body.
How to Trigger and Complete Avenge Quest?
As briefly explained by the Redditor u/TheeElf on the r/ACValhalla, there are a set of rules you need to follow as it is to initiate the avenge quests.
As of now, there are only a few locations in the entire game map where these quests can be triggered. One of these locations is near High Point “Ruined Tower” in East Anglia. Fast Travel to this location and ride to the south of it towards Scotthoh Farm. Eliminate all the enemies present in the area.
Now all you need to do is sit idle on the roof for a few minutes; this should take up to 15 minutes at the maximum. Around this time, Eivor will make a comment which can differ every time.
This will be your signal to use Odin’s sight, which will highlight an objective in blue. After interacting and confirming the kill on the already dead bodies of enemies you just killed will flash the ‘Avenge Complete’ on your screen, marking the completion of the quest.
Other Locations Where It Can Be Initiated
There are a few more locations where this quest can be activated:
- South of Sunken Glory in East Anglia, there is a bandit camp with approximately seven enemies.
- East of the Ruined Tower High Point is a campsite with three boars and a tree/branch hanging over the site.
Bugs And Glitches in the Avenge Quests
The ‘Hall of Slain’ Ubisoft connect challenge requires a person to avenge 10 of the dead players to complete it. However, as we just discussed, the quest is insanely bugged as there are only a few locations where the dead bodies may spawn. A player has to sometimes wait idly for 15-20 minutes for the quest to activate.
Once the quest is started, the game sometimes automatically accepts it even if you don’t want it, which interferes with the player’s main gameplay and causes delay. Ubisoft has released some fixes for the avenge quests by tweaking its settings, so the player can receive more of this quest without much delay and get more opportunities to avenge their dead fellows.
Unfortunately, the quests still remain extremely buggy for now. We hope Ubisoft quickly fixes this issue and makes it much more lenient for the players to trigger the quest.
How to Avoid the Bugs and Turn Off the Avenge Quests?
As attractive as they are, avenge quests can get considerably annoying once you initiate them. Once activated, they keep popping up, automatically getting accepted, and meddling in the main quests. As we already know, it is another one of those typical bugs.
Hence, there is no direct method to turn it off, but switching off your internet connection and playing offline is one way to avoid it. As the quest is a part of Ubisoft connect, disconnecting from it should do the job. It is not a permanent solution. Hopefully, Ubisoft will react quickly to the players’ problem and patch it soon.
