Winged Scythe is a giant reaper weapon that does extensive slash damage. It is a faith-based weapon, so you can scale it with any faith build you are going for. Moreover, its passive Bleed status effect makes it suitable for most boss fights.
So, if the Scythe sounds like something you want to add to your arsenal, get ready to go on a long adventurous journey within the accursed Lands Between.
1. How to get the Winged Scythe in Elden Ring?
The Winged Scythe is inside a chest in a chamber located at the center of the Tombsward Ruins in the Elden Ring. Tombsward Ruins is located near the Church of Pilgrimage site of grace in the west of the southern isle of the Limgrave region.
Once you reach the ruins, head toward the center and you will soon see stone stairs leading into a dark tunnel. Walk inside, you will come across some enemies, just run past them, and enter the room in front of you.
Go inside, open the chest, and the Winged Scyther is yours!
2. How to get to the Church of Pilgrimage site of grace in Limgrave?
Church of Pilgrimage site of grace is located on the northmost tip of the large island piece, which is connected to the mainland Limgrave through a single giant stone bridge.
Check the map below for a better understanding.
Starting from the very beginning, if you are at the “The First Step” site of grace, you will have to make your way to the Church of Elleh site of grace to the north, and then take the major pathway to the north from there.
Soon, you will reach an intersection, take the right road, and keep walking on it. You will come across a bridge and another intersection right after it. Now, take the right path again and stick to it until you reach another giant bridge.
After crossing this bridge, you will find the Bridge of Sacrifice site of grace. From there, you can carry on your journey to the main path. Take another right from the first intersection from here and make your way northward to reach the Church of Pilgrimage site of grace.
3. Finding Tombsward Ruins in Elden Ring
Tombsward Ruins are located south-west of the Church of Pilgrimage site of grace. There are no designated pathways that lead to these ruins, so keep riding in the southwest direction and you will eventually hit the ruins.
Winged Scythe is at the center of these ruins. The enemies here are relatively weak, but you do not need to engage them anyway. Ignore them until you reach your destination, you can later test your new weapon on them.
4. Is Winged Scythe any good?
Winged Scythe is a great early-game weapon in Elden Ring because of its great stats: 87 physical attack, 104 holy attack, and 100 critical damage. It also has a passive bleed effect, which is ideal for boss fights.
However, it may slow down your attack speed due to its large size, and thus, may not be suitable for players who prefer fast-paced battles.
Overall, the Winged Scythe is a great weapon for beginners, and if used correctly it even has the potential to become your primary weapon.
