The Ultimate Underboss Skull Guide: How to use them in Redfall?

Redfall, the latest action-packed vampire-slaying game, features Underboss Skulls as a form of currency which is crucial in progressing through the game’s main story.

Players can also use these macabre items to unlock specific doors leading to battles against Vampire Gods and obtain optional in-game cosmetic items. While getting every Underboss Skull in the game is not mandatory, it is crucial to have a solid understanding of their significance in Redfall.

To obtain Underboss Skulls in Redfall, players must defeat Vampire Underbosses that are slightly more challenging than regular vampires encountered during exploration. The Underboss Skull will drop as loot on the ground upon defeating the Underboss.

However, finding the underboss can be a bit tricky. Players must first locate and activate Safehouses in each district of Redfall. Once activated, players can access Safehouse Missions, eventually leading to the Vampire Underboss mission.

It’s important to note that players must first complete the initial Safehouse Mission before they can take on the Vampire Underboss mission.

1. Where to place the Underboss Skulls in Redfall?

There are four Vampire Gods in Redfall, and players can access each of their lairs by placing three Underboss Skulls and a Remnant on a nearby altar. These lairs will be pointed out to players as they progress through the main story missions.

Here are two locations where players can place the Underboss Skulls in Redfall:

I. Cave Underneath the Island Crash Site

To access the Cave at the Island Crash Site lair, players must head straight and go underneath until they reach the cave.

Once inside the cave’s main chamber, players will find the podium on which they can place an Underboss Skull. This action will reward players with an outfit for their Redfall character.

II. Tree Near Heritage Rock Safe House

Players should head east from the Heritage Rock Safehouse to find the next Underboss Skull podium until they find a small peninsula with a tree.

The podium will be next to the tree, and players will once again receive an outfit for placing an Underboss Skull on it.

It’s important to note that players may also encounter a Sin-Eater that must be defeated while exploring this location.

2. How to find Safehouses in Redfall?

To find Safehouses in Redfall, the best approach is to explore each district thoroughly. As players explore, their character will verbally inform them if a safe house is nearby.

Safehouses are essential for obtaining Underboss Skulls, completing missions, and progressing through the main story.

Each district in Redfall has one Safehouse. Once players have located a Safehouse, it will appear on their map as a house logo. This makes it easy to revisit the Safehouses later on.
