How to get the Hreidmar’s armor set in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla?

Ubisoft’s much-awaited latest DLC addition to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, titled ‘Dawn of Ragnarok,’ is finally here. It brings a ton of new locations, exciting characters, powerful weapons/armors, and more playable content to this never-ending beautiful game.  

One of the most intriguing elements of this DLC is the introduction of the cursed Hreidmar’s armor set, a deadly hidden armor in Svartalfheim. 

The Hreidmar’s cursed armor set is in Hodda Shelter, located west of Eitri in the western Vangrinn region, accessible through Dawn of Ragnarok DLC of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. 

This shelter is easy to locate as it is filled to the brim with gold. After entering the shelter, go through the large door and navigate your way to the furnace room. The armor is sitting on a pedestal located to the left of the furnace/blacksmith’s room. Go ahead and pick up the armor, but don’t equip it right away as there is a catch to it! 

As the name suggests, Hreidmar’s armor set is cursed. Wearing even one piece of it will nullify evasion and cut your Health down to 33%, and wearing all of them will damage you such that you’ll die in 30 seconds.  

To remove this curse, you first need to bless the armor by locating five Jotun Blights in Svartalfheim and destroying their red skulls to obtain Motsognir’s Clarity rune. Once acquired, you then need to socket the Motsognir’s Clarity rune in each armor piece which will turn the armor into Hreidmar’s Blessed Set.

Apart from the fantastic stats, the Hreidmar’s Blessed Armor set also offers a unique perk that allows all critical hits to heal you, but rations replenish less Health. Its set bonus will enable you to damage nearby enemies when you Heal using Rations. 

Finding the Five Jotun Blights in Svartalfheim 

Jotun Blight Location #1 – Vangrinn 

The first Jotun Blight is found in the swamps north of the Hodda Shelter in western Vangrinn.  

Here you will find a cursed red skull atop a rock. Shoot the skull with your bow and arrow to destroy it, then use Odin’s Sight to follow its escape trial. In total, you need to hit the cursed skulls five times at this location to break its curse and get the rune. 

Note: Collect the Power of Jotunheim next to the cursed red skull. You need it to reach the last location of the skull. 

Once you destroy the cursed symbols, collect the Motsognir’s Clarity rune. 

Jotun Blight Location #2 – Gullnamar  

The second Jotun Blight is at the High Point of the four massive statues, located north of the Grenhellir Shelter in northern Gullnamar. 

At the location, look for the cursed skull between two ridges. Destroy it and follow its path like earlier using Odin’s Sight to get the second rune. 

Jotun Blight Location #3 – Svaladal  

The third Jotun Blight is found southwest of Dimm Mylna and east of Eitri’s High Point in the Southern area of Svaladal.  

Look for the cursed skull and destroy it to get the third rune. Don’t forget to use Odin’s sight to track down the location of the cursed skull. 

Jotun Blight Location #4 – Svaladal  

The fourth Jotun Blight is in a cave between Stor Mylna and Horfinn Nama along the Vindkleif river, located in southeastern Svaladal. 

At the doorway, you can pick up the Power of Jotunheim from the dead enemy, which will make the task of chasing the cursed skull much easier. 

Jotun Blight Location #5 – Svaladal 

The final Jotun Blight is found at a frozen lake northwest of Gnafandi Keep and southeast of Gullthorp. 

As usual, follow the trail and destroy the cursed skull to acquire the last Motsognir’s Clarity rune.
