‘Den of the Beast’ quest in Assassin’s Creed Mirage is a part of The Warlord Investigation, which requires players to assassinate Warlord Wasif a.k.a Al-Mardikhwar, in a Templar hideout located inside the Great Garrison. However, a game breaking glitch is causing players difficulty to progress through the mission.
During the ‘Follow the Steward’ objective in this mission, the Steward stops moving, resulting in a crucial cutscene not being triggered. This hinders the progress of the mission as the Steward is supposed to unlock a door to the Garrison to continue the mission.
To fix the ‘Den of the Beast’ quest glitch in AC Mirage:
Follow the brown key icon on your compass when the Steward is unable to move further.
Following this key will lead players to an open window, leading to a room
- Enter the room through this window
- Upon entering, you’ll find a key laying on the ground
- This key will help you open the door to the Garrison, which the Steward was supposed to open
- Collect the key and hop back out the window
- From the window, go left then, turn right and go ahead until you see a flight of stairs.
- On top of the flight of stairs will be the door to the Garrison, which you can now unlock with the key you’ve collected.
Now you can complete the mission as it was intended to be. If you haven’t faced this glitch during this mission, then good for you. Otherwise, you should follow the steps given above to bypass this glitch.
1. How to complete ‘Den of the Beast’ quest in Assassin’s Creed Mirage?
First, you need to speak to Ali before this mission, who will be waiting for you on a rooftop opposite the Great Garrison. He will tell you that one of the stewards inside the Garrison is loyal to him. He can be found near the cookhouse and will help you once he notices your red sash.
Along with that, Ali will tell you his plan of freeing Beshi and the other rebels. Now what you need to do is go near the main entrance of the Garrison and eavesdrop nearby civilians. Through eavesdropping, you’ll be made aware of holes in the northern wall of the Garrison.
2. Entering the Garrison
Make your way to the northern wall of the Garrison. You’ll notice guards near the perimeter of the Garrison. Either distract or assassinate them to get inside the Inner Garrison.
Head inside the Inner Garrison via the hole pictured above. Watch out for guards circling the Garrison. Once you’re in, head right and use the ladders to make your way up to the top.
At the top, you’ll notice a few guards whom you need to either assassinate or get past using distractions. It is recommended to reduce noise as much as possible. From the top, drop down to the lower platform just below it, which will be directly above a haystack just beside the cookhouse.
From the platform, drop down to the haystack and go to the cookhouse just beside it, where Ali’s man, the Steward, will be present.
3. Following the Steward
What you need to do then, is to follow the Steward as he leads you further inside the Garrison, to Wasif’s room. Use the walls, haystacks, grass and the shadows to make your way through the Garrison and follow the Steward without getting caught.
You’ll face a few guards on your way to Wasif’s room so make sure to assassinate each and every one of them to avoid detection and suspicion. The Steward’s work will be done once you reach Wasif’s room. Explore his room and collect whatever loot there is.
4. Eradicate the Guards
As soon as you enter the door inside Wasif’s room, a cutscene will trigger showing Wasif killing Beshi, which gives you more of a reason to eliminate him. Ali will also appear at the scene and fight the guards.
Your objective will be to defeat all the guards with the help of Ali. Once the fight ends, another cutscene will trigger. Ali will inform you that he will free the other rebels captured inside.
5. Finding the Warden to Free the Rebels
Continue inside the Garrison until you reach a locked door where the rebels are being held captive. The rebels will tell you that the warden has the key to their cells.
Go back outside and make your way to the upper level to find the warden. Activate your Eagle Vision to find a guard with a key icon above his head. That will be the warden, who is in possession of the key to the rebels’ cells.
Assassinate the warden, then go back to the cells to unlock it and free the rebels.
6. Light the Beacon
After freeing the rebels, rally with them at the center of the Garrison with Ali. He’ll tell you about a beacon to draw out Wasif’s elite guards.
Make your way to the top, with the help of your compass, to reach the beacon. Once you reach it, light it up which will break out a fight between the guards and the rebels.
7. Open the Trapdoor to Wasif’s Room
Now what you need to do is find the trapdoor to Wasif’s room, where he is hiding. To do so, follow the icon shaped like a flower on your compass (as pictured above).
Once you locate the trapdoor, interact with it to trigger a cutscene, which will show Basim opening it and dropping down inside Wasif’s room.
8. Assassinate Warlord Wasif
Now the solution is pretty straightforward. All you need to do is assassinate Warlord Wasif. Wait for the two guards to leave the room, leaving Wasif alone and vulnerable. That’s when you assassinate him and avenge Beshi, ending the ‘Den of the Beast’ quest.
That’s everything you need to know about ‘Den of the Beast’ quest glitch and the quest itself. For this quest, you’ll need to eavesdrop nearby civilians to learn information about the Garrison. Here are all the tips are tricks to keep in mind while eavesdropping:
9. About Assassin’s Creed Mirage
Assassin’s Creed Mirage is an action-adventure game developed by Ubisoft Bordeaux and published by Ubisoft. The game is the thirteenth primary installment in the Assassin’s Creed series and the successor to 2020’s Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. While its historical timeframe precedes that of Valhalla, its modern-day framing story succeeds Valhalla’s own.
Set in 9th-century Baghdad during the Islamic Golden Age—in particular during the Anarchy at Samarra—the story follows Basim Ibn Ishaq (a character first introduced in Valhalla), a street thief who joins the Hidden Ones to fight for peace and liberty against the Order of the Ancients,[b] who desire peace through control. The main narrative focuses on Basim’s internal struggle between his duties as a Hidden One and his desire to uncover his mysterious past.
