How to Finish the Fox Questline in Black Myth: Wukong – Easy Guide

Black Myth: Wukong has recently been released and continually lauded for its excellent quality and immersive RPG gameplay. The graphic intense game by Game Science brings alive the character of the Monkey King, Sun Wukong.

There are many interesting quests in Wukong. They are recorded in the form of Chapters. In Chapter 3 of Black Myth: Wukong, there is an encounter with a corpse that was a fox demon when it was alive. It lets you transform into a fox and avenge it by defeating the monk who killed it.

To finish the Fox questline, follow the following steps-

  1. Find and Interact with the remnant Fox Spirit in the Forest of Felicity near the shrine’s gate.
  2. Obtain the Item – Snow Fox Brush and travel to the New Thunderclap Temple.
  3. Reach the Temple Entrance and see a monk praying before a large Buddha statue.
  4. Approach the monk, after a cutscene, defeat the monk and obtain his spirit.
  5. Return to the fox spirit remnant in the Forest of Felicity and receive the Snow Fox Brush (accessory).

The Fox Spirit questline lets you obtain the Snow Fox Brush, an accessory that lets you transform for longer. The way you start is by going to the Forest of Felicity (which is within the Valley of Ecstacy).

The routes are the only difficult part of this quest; in the end, you can face off against Non-Void. The Non-Void monk is actually a hidden Boss with a spirit drop (you can transform into a Non-Void).

To initiate the Fox Spirit side quest, you must first complete the prerequisites and main quest in the first two Chapters. Once you enter the third Chapter, the quest will be accessible to you (When you get to the Valley Ecstacy section, which is the quest location).

Teleport to the location of Valley of Ecstacy, and head to the Forest of Felicity. The way to the Forest is by following the snowy slide slope from the Valley to the end. You will be able to see shrine gates (Keeper’s Shrine).

The corpse is to the side of the shrine gate. You can interact with it and you will hear the tale of the fox Guia. The fox laments its death after transforming into the human form. The fox wants you take revenge on the scholar that slew it (now a monk).

After the conversation, head to the corpse and examine it. The fox Guai will let you wear its skin that will transform you into a fox (this is necessary in order to head to the location of the non-void monk later). You will also receive the Snow Fox Brush.

3. Where to find the Non-Void monk?

To avenge the fox guai, you need to head to the temple in which the monk resides. You can look behind the corpse and follow the wooden path. You will know when to take a turn by taking notice of the stone statues on the way.

Keep following these pathways in this manner and navigate through the snowscape. You will soon come across archways. Go through them until you see one with lit braziers. When you get here, you should take a left, and you will arrive at the Longevity Road Keeper’s Shrine.

This is not the end of Wukong’s journey; we are only halfway there. From the shrine, you can see stairs ascending upwards. Climb those, and you will reach the New Thunderclap Temple.

There is a boss you need to defeat if this is the first time you are visiting this location. After getting past the boss, activate the Temple Entrance Keeper’s Shrine and head to the left, where there are a cluster of buildings.

You will soon be faced with two staircases, on your left and right. Take the one on the left and ascend it to the top of the building. You can see the balcony from there.

There is a wooden bridge in front of the balcony which you will have to cross and then take the stairs to the left. This will finally help you reach the quest’s objective -the Yaoguai Chief Non-Void.

4. Completing the Fox Spirit Quest

Defeating the Non-Void boss can be said to be somewhat easy. The only thing to watch out for is the talisman paper tornado attack, a massive AOE. But you can be rest assured that if you have gotten to Chapter 3, it won’t pose any problems to you.

You can attack him and make him stagger and he will be a sitting duck without being able to launch any attacks. The repeated stagger works on such side bosses well across the Chapters in the game.

After defeating Non-Void, you will be able to obtain his spirit. You can transform into the Non-Void for a certain duration upon use. After adding Non-Void to your collection, the only thing left is to submit the completion information to the quest giver -the fox Guai corpse.

Return to the Forest of Felicity before the Keeper’s Shrine and interact with the fox Guai. You will let it know of your defeating the Non-Void and it will be released into the samsara. The reward you get is the “Snow Fox Brush” Curios (accessory); this makes your transformations last longer.
