There are many hidden missions in Astro Bot, just like other PlayStation games; one is the ‘What A Trip’ hidden trophy mission.
The way for players to obtain this mission is to use the Tripcaster and defeat seven enemies. This could be easy if it happens incidentally, but you can get this hidden trophy with patience.
1. How to defeat enemies using the Tripcaster in Astro Bot?
To defeat seven enemies with the Tripcaster at once, the player needs to taunt the enemies into following Astro. When they start chasing Astro, lead them to smash into the Tripcaster wire while jumping over it. This will allow you to obtain the ‘What A Trip’ hidden trophy.
You must complete the prerequisite to obtain the hidden trophy, defeating seven enemies using the Tripcaster. The Tripcaster here is located in the back corner by a cliff wall.
To obtain this achievement, you need to head to where the enemies are and taunt them (basically, just by being around, they will be lured towards you).
There is a special area close by, specially equipped with the Tripcaster wires (three of them); this is the place that will be used to obtain the hidden trophy.
2. How to taunt the enemies into the Tripcaster?
By walking around them, you can taunt the enemies into chasing after you; come to this area and near a Tripcaster; just jump over the tripwire, and the stupid enemies will all charge head-first into the Tripcaster and die.
Remember that you should just leap over the Tripcaster and not use your laser jump. The lasers on Astro can break these trips. Of course, if you break one by mistake, you can use the others similarly.
There are exactly seven enemies on this stage, and after all seven of them have crashed into the Tripcaster and been defeated, you will unlock the hidden trophy- ‘What A Trip’.
3. What is the Tripcaster in Astro Bot? Where is it located?
The Tripcaster is a pink wire of electricity that teaches a good lesson as to why you shouldn’t mess with wires. To get to the Tripcaster, cross the first checkpoint in Machine Learning.
You will see a few rows of Tripcaster (no enemies nearby), so proceed up the cliff.
That is where you will find the triangle-style setup of the Tripcaster trips, along with the seven enemies necessary for the hidden trophy mission.
If you’re unfamiliar with PlayStation’s Horizon series, the Tripcaster lays down a tripwire that triggers effects on enemies.
In Astro Bot, there is no way you can lay down the trips, but that doesn’t stop us from letting those hare-brained enemies crash into the already existing ones. The Tripcaster is featured in the Horizon-inspired level “Machine Learning” stage in the Feather Cluster.
