Into the Breaches is the primary story quest players will encounter in New World. Completing this mission will grant players a level 23 Armor Case, 53 Gold, and 20 Azoth. However, finishing the Into the Breaches quest can get a little tricky.
To complete Into the Breaches story quest in New World, players need to destroy the Corrupted Nodes with the Azoth Staff. The character has to defeat the Plainsbot Cultists that protect these nodes. After breaking them, talk to Yonas the Hermit to claim the rewards.
In short, the mission is quite simple to complete. But players need to make sure that they have leveled up their Azoth Staff to gain the ability to destroy the Corrupted Breaches. There are also plenty of other basic requirements to fulfill.
Keep reading for a more detailed guide on preparing yourself and completing the Into the Breaches quest in New World.
How to Get the Azoth Staff in New World
To get the Azoth Staff in New World, players need to complete the ‘Forge the Azoth Staff’ Main Quest. To get assigned to this mission, talk to Yonas the Hermit and complete the Windsward quests, where players will get the ingredients required to craft the staff.
Once players have all the required items after completing some main quests, Yonas will instruct you to go to the Sacred Altar near the Everfall Hamlet. After reaching the center of the temple, you should notice a blue aura near the altar.
Getting closer to the aura will give the character the option to forge the Azoth Staff. Hold the interact button, and the items you’ve collected will float in the air and merge into a brand-new staff. This staff will be stored in the inventory and can be equipped whenever needed.
A Walkthrough on ‘Into the Breaches’
Now that the character has the Azoth Staff in their hands, they can begin the ‘Into the Breaches’ quest. To get started with the main story quest, talk to Yonas at Fishermans Bend. He’ll ask you to use the newly forged staff to get rid of areas of Corruption.
Then, travel towards Harplass Homestead, which isn’t far away from the Fishermen’s Bend. To identify the area, look for bloodthirsty undead enemies, broken huts, and orange-colored Corruption scattered around the houses.
The objective is to destroy three of those Corrupted Nodes. To obliterate them, equip the Azoth Staff and get close. Players will notice a pop-up that says interact. Hold the button told for several seconds, which will destroy the node.
Move ahead and destroy a couple more Corrupted Nodes to complete the task assigned to you. However, it can get quite inconvenient to break nodes as there are various enemies in the area.
How to Eliminate Plainsbot Cultists in New World
If someone attacks the character while he’s busy using the Azoth Staff, it’ll completely stop the process.
I recommend that players should defeat the monsters before trying to obliterate the nodes. The most common opponent that gamers will encounter is the Plainsbot Cultists. They guard the Corrupted Nodes and use a small knife to attack their enemies.
To defeat Plainsbot Cultists in New World, it’s best to keep your distance as they primarily use melee attacks. Use a Musket or a Bow to land hits from afar. They don’t attack players until they are close to them.
Those that prefer to take a fight up close can dodge their knife attacks by falling back a little. They’ll eventually get tired and stop swinging, so use this gap and unleash some melee attacks.
Finishing the Into the Breaches Quest
After defeating the Plainsbot Cultists, there won’t be anything stopping gamers from destroying the Corrupted Nodes. After completing the objective, go back to the Fishermen’s Bend and talk to Yonas the Hermit.
Inform him that you’ve completed the mission, and he’ll grant players the mission rewards. Now, you’ve officially completed the Into the Breaches Quest and can move ahead into the main storyline.
Moreover, there are plenty of Corrupted Nodes scattered across Aeternum that are breakable. Shattering them can give players more rewards to carry on their journey in New World.
