In Chapter 1 of Black Myth: Wukong, you will encounter the Whiteclad Noble, a serpent/human creature dressed in a white robe. With twice the health pool, fast pace, and the power to control water, the Whiteclad Noble can be pretty lethal. You will be surprised to face off such a boss so early in the game.
What you need to do before the fight?
Since the game has just begun, you will have limited resources. However, you need to make sure that you are prepared to face a challenging boss.
Acquire the Immobilize spell. It is easily one of the most popular spells in Black Myth: Wukong. It is the perfect counter to the Whiteclad Noble’s quick movements. Further obtain the Stagnation Mysticism to amplify Immobilize by extending its duration.
Upgrade your Pillar Stance. It will allow you to stand on your staff, thus avoiding damage from water attacks. You can also go for the Smash Stance to deliver heavy combos while charging.
By this point in the game, you should be familiar with Transformations and Spirits. The Wandering Wight spirit has powerful attacks which can severely deplete your enemy’s health.
You can also use Transformation to assume another form. It’s like a second life. Use this to survive longer in the fight.
Where is the Whiteclad Noble?
The Whiteclad Noble is a mandatory boss so there’s no way you will miss running into him in Chapter 1. While exploring the vast Black Wind Mountain, head to the Bamboo Grove. The boss will be here, guarding the Marsh of White Mist Keeper’s Shrine.
How to beat the Whiteclad Noble?
The Whiteclad Noble is half-serpent and half-human. The fight is divided in such a way that every form has a chance to shine.
At the beginning of the match, your objective is to dodge his attacks. The Noble is impressively fast as a human so it might be tricky. You can slip in a few quick attacks here and there but keep your heavy attacks for later.
When the boss turns into a serpent, he will switch to powerful, long-range attacks. They are tougher to dodge so use the Pillar Stance. This is also the time to cast spells, use Spirits and lastly, finish with Transformation.
The fight will begin as the Whiteclad Noble jumps into the air and throws his spear. He will also use the spear to do a water swipe. Use the Pillar Stance to avoid damage.
In phase 1, the boss will move around the arena very quickly. He can attack at a moment’s notice so you must be vigil at all times. That being said, most of his attacks can be dodged.
Cast Immobilize and charge a heavy attack to drain his health. You can do this whenever you want to trigger the second phase of the fight.
As his health is running low, the Noble will reveal his true snake-like form. Sadly, it also comes with a full health bar so you will have to do the whole dance once again.
Most of his attacks remain the same with only a few changes. He will shoot water projectiles at you. There will be a bigger window to deliver hits. So keep attacking.
Lastly, use Immobilize with the Wandering Wight Spirit which is powerful enough to drain a third of his health.
Whiteclad Noble Rewards
Here are the rewards you will receive upon defeating the Whiteclad Noble:
- Jade Fang
- Yarn x3
- 1049 XP
- 699 Will
