Defeating a Colossus – How to beat the Executioner in The First Descendant?

The Executioner is a boss in The First Descendant, and quite a memorable one. Players can unlock this Level 34 boss after wrapping up the Void Radar Upgrade quest. Just like other Colossus in the game, the Executioner also has a few tricks up his sleeve. However, once you know his vulnerabilities and attack pattern, defeating this boss will be an easy victory.

What you need to know about the Executioner?

The Executioner’s attack element is electric. Before heading in to battle, make sure to work on your defensive stats. Your Electric Resistance should be at least 900.

How to beat the Executioner?

Electric and Fire attacks are almost useless against the Executioner. However, he is extremely prone to Toxic damage. So, that’s what you should focus on. Go into the battle with a build equipped with the Toxic Enhancement module to inflict maximum damage.

The Executioner has several weak points where you should target during your battle. Select Tab (on PC) or Right Stick (on controller) to highlight them. Once destroyed, remove them using your Grappling Hook.

Here are the attacks you should watch out for:

Attack	How to dodge?
The Executioner will shoot at you with a blue laser.	Run to either side.
The Executioner will shoot a laser beam which can stick on and deal prolonged damage.	Duck behind pillars.
The Executioner turns blue. Only his glowing red head is vulnerable to attacks in this form. You will be teleported into the air. Blue areas will be highlighted on the ground which will explode.	Once you land, run out of the blue areas.
The Executioner will spawn healers to help him recover lost health.	Kill the healers first.
Blue areas on the ground will be struck by lightning.	Stay away from these areas.
The Executioner will shoot lightning orbs at you.	Run out of its path to dodge.
The Executioner will spawn more enemies as backup.	Eliminate them to obtain ammo and HP.
