Mega Heracross’ Strengths and Weaknesses
Mega Heracross has a Bug and Fighting dual-typing which is difficult to take on. However, like any other Pokemon, Heracross also has some strengths and weaknesses.
Mega Heracross is particularly vulnerable to Fire, Psychic, and Fairy-type attacks and more so to Flying-type attacks. The most optimal attack is a Flying Type attack since they will deal greater damage. Attacks like Bug, Dark, Fighting, Grass, and Ground are the least effective against Mega Heracross.
How to get Mega Heracross in Pokemon GO?
After winning a Mega Heracross raid, you will have limited Premier Balls which can be used to catch Heracross. Since there’s only a few, it is important to make every one count.
Heracross won’t be a sitting duck as you attempt to catch it. However, don’t waste your throws when it is moving around. Wait for a pause then as the target ring starts getting smaller, throw a Premier Ball to make a Great Throw or an Excellent Throw. To earn extra Premier Balls, battle with your friends and defeat Mega Heracross.
Is there a Shiny Mega Heracross in Pokemon GO?
After winning a Mega raid, a normal or Shiny Heracross is likely to spawn nearby. Trainers with a Shiny Heracross can evolve it to acquire a Shiny Mega Heracross.
The Mega Evolving process requires 200 Mega Energy for the first time and 40 Mega Energy for the rest. You can get Mega Energy by winning Mega raids or finishing Research tasks.
To increase your chances of getting the Shiny Heracross, try to win multiple Mega raids. It can be a tough task since it requires a lot of knowledge and apt counters.
What to do with Mega Heracross once you’ve caught it?
After the raid, Mega Heracross will revert back to Heracross. Heracross is an expert of Charged Attacks. It would be wise to hatch a second Heracross to fully utilize its unique dual attacking style (Bug and Fighting).
The Mega Heracross is still a newbie in Pokemon GO. Hence, its popularity in raid lineups is uncertain. Even though there are several other Bug-type and Fighting-type Pokemons, Mega Heracross is still a solid contender.
Heracross’ Stats
- Initial CP Range: 1,693–1,772
- Initial CP Range with Weather Boost: 2,116–2,215
- Available Fast Attacks: Counter (Fighting), Struggle Bug (Bug)
- Available Charged Attacks: Close Combat (Fighting), Earthquake (Ground), Megahorn (Bug), Rock Blast (Rock)
Since Mega Heracross is not available in every region, the raid is an excellent opportunity to acquire the rare Bug and Fighting type Pokemon. The more and more Mega Heracross raids you participate in; the more Candy and Candy XL will be rewarded. Now that you know everything there is to know about beating Mega Heracross, go ahead and catch ‘em all!
