Walking Mausoleums in Elden Ring are sentient creatures that look like colossal rock turtles with a tower on their backs. These formations roam throughout the treacherous lanes of The Lands Between with four gigantic rock legs, often with a bell between them, and are accessible once stopped.
Given how intimidating Elden Ring can be, your first instinct upon seeing these daunting creatures might be to draw the blade and kill them. Thankfully, there’s no need for bloodshed here as, unlike other foes in the game who march onwards with murderous intent, Walking Mausoleums are relatively harmless.
Therefore, ingressing these creatures isn’t the most homicidal task out there, but how can it be achieved, given how high the entrance is?
Attack and remove the skull-like deposits from all four legs of this mammoth creature to access the Bell Turtle Walking Mausoleum in Elden Ring. The Walking Mausoleum will become static and you can enter its tower to duplicate your Remembrances as a reward.
Perhaps the best part about accessing Walking Mausoleums is that these structures do not react to getting hit. But, at the same time, it does not mean that you are granted the leeway to move around at your pleasure here because a single stomp from these mighty towers can leave you flattened.
Furthermore, not all Walking Mausoleums are similar to each other as some will not have the skull-like barnacles around their legs, like the one in Liurnia. Let’s find out what it’ll take to access such Mausoleums.
Bell Turtle Walking Mausoleum in Liurnia
Unlike most Mausoleums in Elden Ring, the one in Liurnia has skull deposits located at the base of the building instead of its legs. Therefore, to access it, utilize a nearby Spirit Spring to be hurled towards a cliff, descend to the platform that’s just below it, and jump onto the Mausoleum once it’s sufficiently close.
From here on, all you have to do is break off the skulls to make the giant creature crouch.
This just shows that like any other creature in Elden Ring, Walking Mausoleums, too, keep you on your toes, but at the end of the day, it’s worth accessing them as they offer a valuable reward by letting you duplicate Remembrances.
How to duplicate Remembrances in Elden Ring?
When inside Walking Mausoleum, interact with a headless black corpse to open the Remembrance Duplication Menu. This menu will let you duplicate boss Remembrances (unique items awarded for beating Shardbearers), and double the number of bonuses obtained from it.
Note: It must be kept in mind the action of duplicating Remembrances is only available once per Mausoleum.
