How Not To Summon A Demon Lord Season 2 Episode 4: Release Date, Spoilers, Discussion

In episode 3 of the second season of How Not to Summon a Demon Lord, Battuta reveals his true colors. 

Battuta drugged Lumachina and Rem and captured them. He admitted to being the cause of the Death Knell disease that was spreading around the city. 

Diablo was informed about this by Horn, the Lockpicker. They proceeded to go and face Battuta, and to rescue Lumachina and Rem from his clutches.

1. Episode 4 Speculations and Discussions

With reference to the preview at the end of episode 3, we will be seeing Diablo and the girls take on Diablo’s dungeon and overcome it.

The purpose of overcoming this dungeon is to receive the special item that will heal Lumachina since she has been cursed with the Death Knell disease by Battuta. 

Since it is Diablo’s dungeon, they should be able to maneuver through it easily compared to the other adventurers who try to overcome it. 

2. Episode 4 Release Date

Episode 4 of the How Not to Summon a Demon Lord anime, titled “Personal Domain”, has been released on Friday, Apr 30, 2021.

No, How Not to Summon a Demon Lord is not on break this week. Episode 4 will be released as scheduled on 30th April. No such delay has been announced.

3. Recap of Episode 3

Episode 3, titled “Corrupt Ritual,” starts with Lumachina talking to the Head Paladin about the Death Knell disease. She states that the Death Knell disease is in fact a curse being conjured by someone on the people. 

Battuta admits to being the person who is conjuring the Death Knell curse, revealing his true colors. 

He drugs Rem and Lumachina and takes them hostage in some secret underground spot. Here he intends to have the Head Priest Lumachina full of sin by having her defiled.

Diablo has been made aware of this by Horn, the lockpicker he met when he first came to the city. They proceed to go and face Battuta to rescue Lumachina and Rem. 

Diablo is caught off-guard since Battuta puts up a much tougher fight than expected. However, in the end, Diablo prevails.  

While Diablo has his battle, Fanis Laminitus, the Feudal Leader of the city, has her encounter with Varakness, who is the Grand General in the Demon Lord’s Army. 

He advises her to surrender to the will of the Demon Lord since he has awakened and will wreak havoc on the mortal population everywhere. 

The episode ends with Diablo deciding to take on his dungeon and overcome it, to claim the secret item to help heal Lumachina of the Death Knell’s curse.

4. About How Not to Summon a Demon Lord

How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord is a 2014 light novel series by Yukiya Murasaki. The series paved a way for the 2015 manga and 2018 anime adaptation as well.

The story of How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord follows our protagonist Sakamoto Takuma. Takuma was so strong in the MMORPG Cross Reverie that his fellow players came to call him the ‘demon lord.’

One day, he gets summoned to another world in his avatar form and meets two girls who insist that they’re the one who summoned him.

They cast a spell used to enslave summoned beasts on him, but the spell reflects, and the girls end up being the ones put under the spell!

Thus, begins the otherworldly adventure of a fake demon lord who blazes his trail through overwhelming power.
