In episode 2 of the 2nd Season, Diablo and the girls arrive at Zircon Tower City in a sand vessel.

Not long after they set foot on land, they encounter a Paladin Brigade member and get into an argument with him. He tried to attack Lumachina, but Diablo stepped in and blew him away with his magic.

Soon after that, he had to defeat a massive Sand Whale that was heading towards the city. Unknowingly he received help from the Paladin, Battuta, and the Feudal Leader of the city, Fanis Laminitus. This leads to a three-way standoff between them.

1. Episode 3 Speculations and Discussions

With reference to the previous episode, the Paladin offered his hospitality to Diablo and the girls because Lumachina is a Head Priest. Lumachina invites the Paladin to her room to talk. 

It seems like he is going to reveal his true colors. Since Lumachina has already been attacked before by the upper echelon of the church, her life may be in danger again.

We will probably see Diablo fight Battuta and may even receive aid from the Feudal Leader, Fanis.

Episode 3 of the How Not to Summon a Demon Lord anime, titled “Corrupt Ritual”, has been released on Friday, Apr 23, 2021.

3. Recap of Episode 2

In episode 2, titled “Head Paladin,” Diablo and the girls arrive at Zircon Tower City. As soon as they set foot in the city, they realize that something is off about it.

Diablo happens to meet Horn, a young lockpicker who tells him about a dungeon and mentions how no one has been able to go past the 3rd floor. Diablo realizes that it is his dungeon that he intends to visit.

At that moment, Lumachina gets into an argument with a Paladin Brigade member. As he tries to attack Lumachina, Diablo steps in and defeats him with his magic. Lumachina then cures a child from the Death Knell disease.

Soon after that, a massive Sand Whale rushes towards the city. Diablo uses multiplex magic to stop the whale. However, this attack is not strong enough to defeat it. 

He then notices two different attacks coming from different directions. The first attack is a long-range attack with martial art used by the Head Paladin, Battuta. 

The second attack is from a Magi-Gun used by the Feudal Leader of the city, Fanis. In this way, they defeat the sand whale. This leads to an intense three-way standoff between Diablo, Battuta, and Fanis. 

Battuta acknowledges the presence of Lumachina as the Head Priest and offers his hospitality. This encounter ends with Fanis threatening all of them.

How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord is a 2014 light novel series by Yukiya Murasaki. The series paved a way for the 2015 manga and 2018 anime adaptation as well.

The story of How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord follows our protagonist Sakamoto Takuma. Takuma was so strong in the MMORPG Cross Reverie that his fellow players came to call him the ‘demon lord.’

One day, he gets summoned to another world in his avatar form and meets two girls who insist that they’re the one who summoned him.

They cast a spell used to enslave summoned beasts on him, but the spell reflects, and the girls end up being the ones put under the spell!

Thus, begins the otherworldly adventure of a fake demon lord who blazes his trail through overwhelming power.
