Hogwarts Legacy, the action RPG based on the Harry potter novels and movies, is finally here. With over 94% positive reviews on Steam, it is not wrong to say that all the gamers absolutely loved it.
The game features a 30 hour long captivating campaign in which players are required to make many choices that impact not only the lives of characters around them but also the ending of the game’s story.
Hogwarts Legacy features multiple story endings. There are three endings of the campaign that can be categorized as the good, the evil, and the true ending.
However, not all the decisions in the game affect the ending. Only the ones you make after Ranrok and his goblin army invade the castle and repository during the story’s climax will determine the ending of the game.
1. How to get the Good Ending in Hogwarts Legacy?
I. Choose the dialogues
- “I intend to keep it contained here,” and
- “I shall keep it secret forever,”
After professor Fig asks you what you intend to do with the ancient magic to get the good ending in Hogwarts Legacy.
After you make these choices, Ranrok will appear and absorb the ancient magic to turn into a dragon. Defeat him, and later professor Fig will help you contain the ancient magic.
Unfortunately, all of this will take a toll on his body, and he will peacefully pass away in the hands of the protagonist, leaving the wizarding world in the most capable hands (Yours). After this cutscene, players will return to Hogwarts.
2. How to get the Bad Ending in Hogwarts Legacy?
I. Choose the dialogues
- “I intend to open it,” and
- “This power should not be kept from the world,”
After professor Fig asks you what you intend to do with the ancient magic to get the evil ending in Hogwarts Legacy.
In this ending, players will still have to fight Ranrok as he is the final boss, but this time professor Fig will die way early and not return to help you contain the ancient magic.
Further, if you choose this ending, the protagonist will absorb some of the ancient magic instead of sealing it away.
3. How to get the True Ending in Hogwarts Legacy?
I. To get the True Ending in Hogwarts Legacy
- Reach level 34;
- Complete all remaining puzzles;
- Complete all remaining side quests;
- Complete all relationship storylines;
- Clear Weasley’s Watchful Eye Main Story Quest; and
- Clear The House Cup Main Story Quest.
The True ending is universal, as in, it is the same for all the players irrespective of the fact whether they choose the good or the evil ending.
After completing all the House Cup missions, various fun and exciting cutscenes will play out, showcasing the numerous activities that take place in Hogwarts.
Lastly, during the announcement of the House Cup winner, professor Weasley will award 100 points to the protagonist for their bravery in the battle with goblins, and their house will win the cup.
If you have achieved the true ending, the game will be considered 100% completed, and there will be nothing left for you to do further in the game.
4. How long it takes to beat Hogwarts Legacy?
Hogwarts Legacy’s main storyline can be completed in around 30 hours, and a completionist run (100% completion) takes about only 37 hours, according to HowLongToBeat.com.
The above-mentioned time is only relevant if you strictly stick to the quests necessary to complete the main story. If you get distracted by side quests or start exploring the beautiful landscapes in the game, then it will surely take you more than just 30 hours.
