The final season of Lucifer is here, and it gives fans the ending they wanted.
When the devil asked, ‘Tell me, what is it you truly desire?’ the fans had a few demands, and season 6 fulfilled all of their desires.
It is purely fan service, and the whole season can be summed up into a single episode, i.e., E9, titled “Goodbye, Lucifer.”
In the penultimate episode, Lucifer is all packed and ready to leave Chloe and their future daughter Rory behind, leaving the fans in tears.
As for the other angel on Earth, Amenadiel returns from Heaven and is figuring out why the world is such a mess. He realizes the Angels are fulfilling people’s wishes, but in the way a genie would do it (and basically twisting them).
Dan Espinoza is a lost soul (no, really… he’s literally a ghost) trying to figure out how he can self-actualize and what’s keeping him from Heaven.
Now that Lucifer got the promotion he always wanted, he realizes that he doesn’t want to be God. However, Amenadiel is up for the job but needs his time taking the Throne.
Lucifer ties up loose ends with Ella. He is still confused between fate vs. free will and still not buying into the time loop theory. He then says goodbye to Amenadiel and Maze and also pays a visit to Dr. Linda.
He then decides to take his own advice and goes to Chloe, “If there is any choice to be had at all, I will always choose us. None of us can be certain of the future.
But what we can control is what we do right now. So whether this is my last day or not, what I do know is I would like to spend it with the people I love most, my family.”
When Chloe and Lucifer get to the panic room, he gets a call that would determine whether it is all really down to fate or free will.
This one gave fans everything. From Chloe being pregnant to Maze and Eve getting married and Dan being set free from his guilt. It was like tying all ‘emotional’ loose ends. A goodbye the fans needed before the final episode aired.
All seasons of Lucifer are now available to stream on Netflix.
