Like any other Assassin’s Creed game, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla houses a sprawling map brimming with content. There’s a vast open world to explore, an immersive plot to dive into, and a lot of side quests and activities to indulge in.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has a vast map with more side-quests than AC Odessey. It’ll take an average player 60-70 hours to complete AC Valhalla’s main campaign. With side content, you can expect to finish 100% of the game in 80-90 hours.
1. How Long Will it Take to Complete Assassin’s Creed Valhalla?
The length of AC Valhalla depends entirely on how you play it: Whether you stick to the main story or you aim to grind on EVERYTHING the RPG has to offer? If you choose the latter, then obviously, you’ll have to remain glued to your device for a lot more hours.
With a plethora of additional activities being offered, there is no definite answer to how long it will take to beat AC Valhalla. Therefore, there are two ways to measure the game’s runtime.
A) Playing just the Main Story
There are a total of 16 regions in the game, each bringing a new set of challenges. Getting done with a region is a task that will quickly consume three hours.
Now add exploring and fighting off the threats this Norse realm throws at you during your ventures. Do the maths, and you’ll realize that 60-70 hours is a fair estimate if you plan on playing Assassin’s Creed Valhalla from the surface.
B) Playing Everything
If you want to get your money’s worth and are looking to extract every drop of the AC Valhalla juices, it’ll take you a lot more than 60 hours to be done with the game.
By ‘Everything,’ I mean every side quest, collectibles, secrets, puzzles, challenges, upgrades, and so much more!
Perhaps, you’d be tempted to gather Thor’s gear or go to Asgard; there’s so much you can do in the game.
Being a completionist, if you dive deep into this Norse Pool and do everything there is to be done, it is undoubtedly going to take you 110+ hours at the very least to beat AC Valhalla.
Ultimately, the length of AC Valhalla hangs entirely on your shoulders.
2. Is AC Valhalla Longer Than AC Odyssey?
AC Valhalla is more prolonged than AC Odyssey when it comes to campaign mode. The AC Odyssey’s campaign mode will last for 40-50 hours, while Valhalla, on the other hand, will easily take 50-60 hours of your time.
However, if we consider the complete runtime of AC Valhalla and AC Odyssey, which includes everything that these full-fledged RPGs offer, it’ll take you more than 100 hours to beat the games entirely.
3. Fun Things to Do in AC Valhalla
Asides from a hypnotic plot, AC Valhalla will offer you umpteen fun activities like World events, side quests, secrets, collectibles, puzzles, challenges, upgrades to try out.
Some activities like Flyting, Raids, settlement upgrades, puzzles, and streamlined World Events are all new to the game. This will give enthusiasts something new to look forward to in AC Valhalla.
Here’s a detailed list of everything you can do in AC Valhalla:
A) Flyting
Flyting is a rap battle between Vikings. Your job here should be to recognize the rhyming and then picking the correct answer.
Flyting is not something that Assassin’s Creed installed in their game but an actual historical event. After all, Vikings should have something fun to do other than brutally raiding places, right?
Winning flyting battles will help you earn Charisma and money.
There’s no shortage of Flyting encounters in AC Valhalla. If you’re finding it difficult to have a way with words and are stuck, don’t fret. Our complete list of Flyting Duels guide will have your back!
B) World Events
Life of a Viking can never be dull, and AC Valhalla proves that! World Events incorporates all the NPCs that you come across in your Norse travels.
Blue dots on your map will lead you to several citizens who would demand your help. World Event quests are an excellent way to get your mind off of the stressful primary story mission and help you acquire some much-needed XP.
Some will make Eivor play cupid for a man named Gill who wants his love letter to be delivered to his beloved, while others will make you reunite three musicians.
There are all sorts of World Events in AC Valhalla, and trust me; you can never get tired of them.
C) Hunting Animals and Fishing
Want some essential resources as you go on scavenging in the world of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla? Hunting just might be what you’re looking for!
From Lincolnscire’s jungles that pack Black Bears and wolves to the freezing mountains of Rygjafylke inhabiting Polar Bears, there’s no shortage of animals in Valhalla that can be hunted for resources.
The sea has something to offer you too. You can go fishing in AC Valhalla and catch eels, bullheads, haddock, and a lot more!
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla allows players to participate in Hunter Deliveries that is a hunting activity. Players can earn bonus rewards by delivering the resource collected after hunting animals.
D) Standing Stone
Standing stones are mysteries that require identifying the patterns on stone and aligning them correctly to form a specific symbol. It requires you to stand at the right place with the right angle.
There are a total of 13 Standing Stones in AC Valhalla. Some will take you to East Anglia, while some shall demand your deciphering skills in Snotinghamscire.
Upon completing a Standing Stone puzzle, players will earn some XP and a skill point, helping you level up in AC: Valhalla.
E) Collecting Isu Weapons
Isu or “Those Who Came Before” is Assassin’s Creed’s precursor race responsible for creating humans and Pieces of Eden. Moreover, this ancient species of advanced humanoids created many powerful weapons and artifacts.
Isu Weapons that can be obtained in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla are:
· Gungnir, Odin’s Spear
· Mjolnir, Thor’s Hammer
· Excalibur Sword
· Nodens’ Arc
F) Acquiring Excalibur Sword
To get your hands on Excalibur in AC Valhalla, players will have to collect 11 mysterious tablets spread across a vast map.
Out of these 11, 8 tablets are known as the Treasures of Britain. Claiming these will require you to undergo a series of puzzles and parkour activities.
The last three tablets include boss fights against three Zealot members of The Ancient Order. They are Woden, Heike, and Hrothgar, who can be found in different regions of England.
If you are having trouble collecting the 11 tablets, you can read our Excalibur Sword guide to quickly get your hands on the legendary sword of King Arthur.
G) Animus Anomalies
Animus Anomalies are a vital instrument to help you comprehend Assassin’s Creed’s present-day story. With every Anomaly you activate, you assume Layla Hassan’s role, the game’s modern-day protagonist.
An anomaly incorporates a digital platforming puzzle that Layla has to solve and pick up a memory fragment.
The prize for resolving an Anomaly is a short video snippet that wouldn’t make much sense unless you clear all ten anomalies. When the Anomalies and the Valhalla campaign are completed, players will see the secret ending.
H) Upgrading Settlements
Upgrading Settlements in AC Valhalla is one gruesome task! It requires you to spend supplies and raw materials, two very sparse resources. Therefore, finding them can get quite challenging as they are scattered across a comprehensive map.
To get your hands on Supplies and Raw Materials in AC Valhalla, players will have the following things:
- Looting monasteries across the Valhalla map
- Raiding settlements
- Looking for shiny gold icons on the map. Upon following the map, you will have to look for the chest, which would probably be hidden.
I) Exciting Festivals
Even despite delivering jam-packed game content, the devs are not resting and keep on adding post-launch content.
The Yule Festival in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla was the first post-launch content added in the game. It added a bunch of new mini-games, tournaments, and quests to the game. Winning these challenges will help players win Yule Tokens that can be redeemed for many exclusive prizes.
Currently, the new AC Valhalla Update 1.2.0 introduced the Ostara Festival to the game.
The Ostara Festival brings various activities like Viking brawl, Braun’s Folly, Egg Hunt, and so much more to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
To start the Ostara festival and earn rewards, you can follow our complete Ostara fest guide.
