Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag is one of the most critically acclaimed games of the Assassin’s Creed series and it follows the journey of Welsh pirate Edward Kenway. It is the sixth major installment in the franchise.
The game has a plethora of content except the main story and also featured a huge open world. The game lets players sail around in naval fleets and explore multiple islands and cities. Due to the huge map and tons of activities, finishing the game can take quite some time.
If you’re aiming to complete the main story of Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag, then it’s going to take you around 22 hours. Completing both side quests and the main story will take around 40 hours while a completionist run of the game will take around 60 hours.
Difficulty won’t affect your playtime as Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag doesn’t have any difficulty settings so you have to play the game on a predetermined difficulty setting.
1. How long are the DLCs?
Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag features two DLCs which are:
I. Aveline – This DLC featured Aveline de Grandpré from Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation and its main story is 43 minutes. A completionist run would take merely 46 minutes.
II. Freedom Cry – Even though a standalone game now, Freedom Cry was originally a DLC for Black Flag. Its story clocked in at 4 hours while a complete run of this DLC would take around 7 hours.
2. Does Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag have multiplayer?
Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag does indeed have a multiplayer mode that you can play with friends. Black Flag’s multiplayer mode was the same as Assassin’s Creed: III’s with the exception of some new game modes.
A new system called The Game Lab was introduced which allowed players to create their own custom game modes. Unfortunately, the multiplayer didn’t have any naval stuff as Ubisoft stated that it was too hard to pull off.
3. How many endings does Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag have?
Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag has one definitive ending which serves as a conclusion to Edward’s story. During the course of the game, almost all of Edward’s friends and allies die, leaving him alone at the end of the game. Only he and one of his comrades called Anne Bonny survive the journey.
Anne Bonny and Edward converse about his return to England, shortly after which he bids her farewell. Edward looks over at a table to see all of his fallen friends and comrades having a drink, after which Edward meets his daughter for the first time and they both sail away to start a new life in England. This is how Black Flag ends.
4. Is Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag a hard game?
The majority of players that played Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag are of the opinion that the difficulty is just right. The game is not that difficult except maybe some of the side objectives but they’re not impossible to do.
Although achieving 100% sync on a specific memory can be pretty challenging, it’s doable. The naval stuff can be pretty challenging too but it’s nothing to worry about. Overall don’t expect the game to be very hard, it’s meant to be fun so have fun.
5. Is Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag bigger than Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey?
Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey is a much bigger game than Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag and its main story is double the length of Black Flag’s. Odyssey’s main story clocks in at around 44 hours while Black Flag’s story clocks in around 22 hours.
Not only in length but Odyssey’s map is also bigger than Black Flag’s and has many more side quests and activities for players to engage in. Assassin’s Creed: Origins set a trend for the next game to be bigger than the previous one so it’s not surprising that Odyssey is bigger than Black Flag.
