Vincenzo’s lighters are absolutely gorgeous, aren’t they? But what I have been wondering (and surely I am not the only one) is that how the coolest Mafia consigliere keeps getting back his lighter despite dropping it off more than once.
Vincenzo has this really cool lighter, which is gold in colour and has the emblem of an eagle, from the looks of it. Though he flicks the lighter off a few times in the drama, we see him using a lighter which looks exactly the same.
This is mysterious, because unless he has multiple ones of the same looking lighter, he cannot get back that specific lighter everytime.
Vincenzo probably owns multiple similar looking lighters or gets every lighter customized in his iconic golden emblem style. That is how he always has a backup even after chucking off his lighter more than once in the series.
Vincenzo chucks the lighter off twice: once during the Babel warehouse fire and the next time while killing Ms Choi, but he uses a similar kind of lighter the next time.
I think there are two possibilities. First, that Vincenzo basically bought multiple pieces of the same lighter. Considering the design, I think the lighter is a customized one. Maybe he got all his lighters customized in the same way with the same gold color and emblem.
So everytime he chucked off one piece, he always had several backups.
Second, and this you will realize if you notice carefully, he uses different types of lighters. They do look similar because every lighter he used during the show was gold in color. Mostly, he uses his iconic lighter with the emblem. But otherwise, he probably has multiple golden lighters.
In either case, we know for sure that Vincenzo is really fond of his lighters and owns many of them. In episode 4, it was also revealed that he plays with his lighters because it calms him down. So naturally he has multiple lighters if he is so fond of them and it helps him calm down.
Another instance of Vincenzo owning multiple lighters was seen in episode 18, when he was packing his bags for his trip to Italy. We see Vincenzo choosing which lighter to take with him on the trip. So naturally, he has several pieces.
It is not too much of a big deal to get lighters customized. Yes, it is definitely expensive but for someone who requires lighters so frequently, it is not surprising that Vincenzo got his lighters customized in gold with the emblem.
The craze for Vincenzo lighter is so huge that you can actually find similar looking ones on Amazon and on other online sites. I was looking at theories about him regaining his lighter and found so many. So if you are looking for one, there are options out there.
Nevertheless, coming back to our mystery, I guess it is not that complicated. Our man just has a lot of lighters. It is that simple.
