Fans like us are always waiting for Miyazaki’s projects, and when the announcement for “How Do You Live?” was made, everyone was enthralled. We have received more news and details about the theatrical release, with the premiere date approaching.
Studio Ghibli revealed that Hayao Miyazaki’s latest feature film, How Do You Live, will open simultaneously on IMAX with its general release in Japan on July 14. “How Do You Live” is the first Studio Ghibli film to get a simultaneous IMAX release.
The producer at Studio Ghibli, Toshio Suzuki, has revealed that the film will not have any trailers before its release. It is not promoting the movie through TV or newspaper ads.
It’s an excellent way to build mystery around the film, and this is only possible with Ghibli’s reputation. If any other studio attempted this no-trailer strategy, they would soon meet their downfall.
“How Do You Live” is Miyazaki’s original work. He is the director and the scriptwriter for the movie. The studio has not revealed the voice cast or most of the film’s staff.
So far, we know that Miyazaki based his movie on Genzaburo Yoshino’s novel ‘How Do You Live?’. With all the mystery surrounding this film, fans are eager for the release of this film.
The story follows a 15-year-old boy, Copper, who recently lost his father and pondered upon the philosophy of life. He often wonders about the hows and why’s of life.
He then embarks on his bike to find the answers he’s been looking for. The book is mesmerizing and unearthly. And with Miyazaki directing the movie, we know that the book’s magic will be recreated.
