A trusted Twitter source revealed a glimpse of an interview of Kensuke Tateishi and Toshiro Maeda.
Both of them discussed the reasons behind the studio change of Attack on Titan in a recent Newtype interview. Kensuke Tateishi has produced Attack on Titan, A Silent Voice, and more.
Attack on Titan is known for its gruelling animation schedule. The staff has to push their jobs to utter perfection to fit in with the anime.
So when the anime creators decided to push it to a whole different level, not many studios were ready to handle the pressure.
A lot of studios were requested to take on the job but only MAPPA replied amongst them all saying, “We’ll think about it”. One thing led to the other and MAPPA finally decided to carry the torch of the Attack on Titan series.
WIT studio animated the first three seasons of Attack on Titan and they did an outstanding job.
The anime became a hit in not only Japan but overseas as well, especially in the western countries. However, WIT decided that the anime’s last season will have to be made by another studio.
The animation quality which was expected by the creators and the time pinch both scared off a lot of studios.
“The story had reached a critical juncture, and as creators, we wanted to step things up even more than we had until now. “
Takeshi
As MAPPA takes over Attack on Titan, fans are waiting with bated breaths for the final season. The trailers which have been released so far are pretty amazing and have pumped our anticipation.
