That short while was enough to keep our mouths hanging open. The whole kingdom cheered at the sight of their beloved wizard king; however, the moment was short-lived.
Unearthing the reason behind Julius’s sudden transformation is equal to guessing Yuki Tabata’s next move. Will this glimpse of Julius’s adult form lead to a major plot twist in the manga?
1. Julius Back in Adult Form?
As the ancient demon attacks the kingdom, the magic knights are at a loss. A blast from the devil is suddenly stopped with a spell, and people realize that Julius’s spell had stopped it.
Julius arrives in the nick of time, not in his usual child form but his previous adult form!
The Magic Emperor had somehow aged his body by ten years, but he admits that his state is unstable and with limited powers. His fears are proven true when he reverts to his child state mid-attack.
His power is still unstable, and his attempt at disguising miserably fails. I am not one to complain about the cute kid form of Julius, but currently, we need all the help we can get.
2. How Did Julius Revert?
So the biggest question remains, how was Julius able to make himself ten years older, even if for a short amount of time? And will he be able to do it again?
The only reason Julius was able to come back from the dead is because he had stored 13 years of time in his tattoo as a precautionary measure. So, how did he attain the extra ten years?
Julius can use both Time and Transformation magic. He was previously able to control the flow of time and even heal injuries by reversing time. Due to his loss of power, he is not as powerful as before.
There is a chance that he has discovered a way to combine his available time and transformation magic to bring back his adult form for a short amount of time.
Asta alone cannot defeat all the demons, Julius as well as the magic knight squads, play a big role in the ongoing battle against the devils. If Novachrono regains his power, it will be a significant turning point in the war.
Since Julius reverted to his adult form once, there is a possibility that he can do it again. We just need to be patient and trust in Tabata sensei’s skills of introducing mind-blowing twists!
