AC Valhalla is a large, fun-filled, and delightfully enthralling video game. However, some of the quests within this videogame can be a little “trickier” to get through than others. If that’s what you call an annoying bug or glitch, that is.
These would usually require some workaround or fix to complete (until and unless Ubisoft decides to patch the bug). One quest, in particular, has a bug that can actually soft-lock you in the game, stopping you from taking on any more questlines or pretty much doing anything else (A soft-lock) – the quest I’m talking about is “The Forge and The Flame” that’s part of the Hamtunscire storyline in AC Valhalla.
In The Forge and The Flame quest of AC Valhalla, Eivor and Randvi attend Gunnar and Brigid’s wedding. It’s a fairly straightforward quest – however, a bug in the game causes the wedding cutscene from playing at all. Currently, Ubisoft is investigating this bug and may release a patch for it soon.
Of course, there’s a lot more to it than that, so let’s do this – I’ll go over how this quest works out first. Then, I’ll point out the possible situations where a bug might hinder you, along with some possible fixes for the same.
Do keep in mind that the fixes I’ll tell you about may not work at all, so take everything with a grain of salt. If that is the case, then make sure to submit a request on the official Ubisoft Forum (try to do the same with a photo or video of the glitch).
With that out of the way, though, let’s walk through the quest, shall we?
Finding The Quest and Interacting With Gunnar
So, you can find this quest in Ravensthorpe after completing the Hamtunscire storyline. Here’s the location of this quest on the map:
Once you reach the place, you need to interact with Gunnar – once you arrive at the point where he mentions some stuff about marrying Brigid, you need to select the About Your Wedding option.
Some cutscenes would play out, after which everyone would gather up for the wedding. Now, you need to speak to Randvi – she’ll lead you to a secluded spot some small distance from the wedding area.
(Note: This is where the bug is most likely to happen – the people would not arrive at the wedding scene. Try reloading your save file if that is the case.)
Conversation with Randvi – Romance Route and Possible Bug
She’ll discuss some stuff relating to Eivor’s conquest of England, among other things, before dropping the fact that she and Siegfried are breaking up.
Do note that, here, you’ll have a chance at starting a relationship with Randvi, provided you haven’t already during the “Taken For Granted” quest.
Once the conversation ends, both Randvi and Eivor will be on their way back, ending the quest.
(Note: There is another lesser-known bug due to which the entire quest remains incomplete after the conversation with Randvi. To sort this, continue walking towards Raventhorpe as the camera pans out – there’s a high chance that you’ll be able to complete the quest, then.)
