How Do the Two End-Credits Scene of Ant-man 3 Affect the MCU’s Future?

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania premiered in theaters globally today, and I don’t know about you, but the end-credits scenes had me so excited that I spilled my popcorn. True story! Now if you don’t want spoilers, I suggest you skip this article because I will discuss both scenes and how they set up the future of the MCU.

SPOILERS AHEAD! This page contains spoilers from Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

Following Kang the Conqueror being attacked by Scott and Pym’s evolved ants, the mid-credits scene focuses on his variants who exiled him in the Quantum Realm in the first place. We don’t know if the conqueror is dead, but let’s circle back to that after discussing the first end-credits scene.

The scene opens with three Kang variants discussing the “exiled one” and his death and how humanity was close to discovering the Multiverse and its secrets. They fear they will come for “their” kingdoms and call a sit-down with all the Kang variants to discuss how they can stop the intruders.

Well, the Conqueror may not have lied entirely about a big threat coming! Though the scene did not disclose the identities of the variants, two of the main Kangs look an awful lot like Immortus and Pharaoh Rama-Tut, while the third’s identity is a mystery. Some theories state he could be Iron Lad, and some state he could be the Scarlet Centurion, but more on this in a bit.

The Council of Kangs convenes in the end-credits scene to address the need to save their kingdoms, which sets up Avengers 5 perfectly. Avengers: Kang Dynasty won’t introduce a lone Kang as the big bad of the Multiverse Saga but will focus on how the Council of Kangs will be the next Avengers-level threat.

Rama-Tut’s appearance also possibly teases him as the villain of another MCU film. We know the other Fantastic Four Films have featured Doctor Doom as their antagonist – so will the MCU divert from this route and choose Rama-Tut against the first Marvel family, just like the comics?

I also think Kang the Conqueror isn’t dead, and he will be back since the second end-credits scene finishes with the words “Kang will return.” It could mean any variant of Kang, but since he’s the variant Ant-Man 3 dealt with, I think it’s a safe to bet that Marvel meant the conqueror.

The second end-credits scene introduced another Kang variant, whom we did not spot in the first one. The scene was a setup for the upcoming season 2 of Loki, in which the God of Mischief identifies Victor Timely as the one who poses a threat to the TVA. But let me tell you the exciting bit.

Victor Timely will probably be the one-season antagonist for Loki, but another theory might set him up as the ultimate mob boss of the Kang variants. In the comics, Victor Timely, who posed as an inventor in Wisconsin and ultimately conquered that world, was a disguise for Prime Kang.

Yes, that’s the same Prime Kang who led the Council of Kangs and will probably lead them to fight our Avengers to defend the Multiverse. Mind-blown? I bet!

It’s safe to say Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has changed the face of the MCU and introduced the Multiverse Saga’s main villain, and I can’t wait to see what the Kangs have in store for us.
