In Episode 1, titled ‘First Begin with a Hero,’ an ordinary teenager Kazuya Souma was summoned to the Elfrieden Kingdom as a ‘chosen hero’ to solve the debt issue with another nation.
But rather than giving up and accepting his fate, he talked to the King and the court members and convinced them not to send him away.
Later, the King was impressed with the amazing pieces of advice that Kazuya gave to develop their Kingdom and crowned him as the King. He also announced his daughter’s engagement to him. The princess learned about this news and returned to the Kingdom.
How will Kazuya reinvent Democracy? Let’s find out!
We bring you the latest episode updates for this anime.
1. Episode 2 Preview & Speculation
Even though Kazuya suddenly got summoned, he didn’t become excited about being the hero and saving the world. This proves how much of a capable person he is. I’m sure the country will do great on problems like logistics and economy under his rule.
Judging by the name ‘How a Realist Hero REBUILT the Kingdom,’ it’s clear that Kazuya is not going to leave Elfrieden in 3-4 months, as he said. At least not until before changing the Kingdom for well, which obviously is not going to happen soon.
Moreover, the way the princess shook off Kazuya’s suggestion to call off the engagement indicates that we might get to see a love angle between the duo soon.
Or they have probably already started to like each other. Well, the upcoming episode will clarify all the questions we have.

3. Episode 1 Recap
An 18 years old Kazuya Souma, visits his grandfather’s grave. He remembers his grandfather telling him the worth of a family in someone’s life. Meanwhile, in a fantasy world, the King and the ministers decide to summon a hero to protect their Kingdom. They perform the traditional Hero Rite of Summoning and bring Kazuya to their world as a ‘chosen hero.’
The King tells him that he has been brought to a supercontinent Landia, where many races like humans, elves, dwarves, etc., coexisted peacefully until ten years ago when monsters arrived and destroyed the northern countries.
Many nations joined hands and successfully sent the monsters back to the demon world, but they came back in large numbers and occupied a third of the continent.
A minister then tells Kazuya that he has been summoned to the Elfrieden Kingdom to solve the issue of paying financial aid to the empire. This empire is the one that’s holding back the Demon army, following a clause that allows them to send a hero summoned to the empire they have to pay.
Kazuya asks them why don’t they pay the aid instead of turning him to them, to which the minister replies that they have no budget for that.
Kazuya talks to them and successfully convinces them they should not send him away. He suggests reviewing the country’s finances and increase its strength to avoid such imperial demands in the future.
After spending quite some time with Kazuya and seeing him provide impressive bits of advice, the King crowns him as the new King and announces his daughter’s engagement to him.
The news reaches the princess Liscia Elfrieden, who is currently stationed with the army under the command of Duke Carmine, thus making her return back. She meets Kazuya and behaves badly with him, but later apologizes for her behavior on realizing that he is not to be blamed.
Kazuya tells her that he will give up the throne after getting the country’s finances back on track, and she can cancel their engagement then. Kazuya also reveals that he has already sold the national treasures to pay off the country’s debt.
The episode ends with many neighboring nations receiving the report of the new King of the Elfrieden Kingdom.
