A dragon egg is stolen from King’s Landing, bringing the focus back to Daemon’s occupation of Dragonstone. He leaves behind a note, inviting Viserys to his wedding. The egg was originally intended for Prince Baelon, prompting Hightower to go to Dragonstone to retrieve it.

This has no impact on Daemon, who claims it is his right as a Targaryen to have his child share a cradle with a dragon egg. It’s only when Rhaenyra arrives on the scene and tells Daemon he would have to kill her to maintain his position as heir that the egg is retrieved. What will become of their relationship?

A series of violent attacks on the shipping lanes lead to four ships being stolen, leaving the council in a frenzy. Lord Corlys Velaryon, specifically, is concerned about these attacks and demands that immediate action is taken. He adds that these attacks led by Crabfeeder could lead to the kingdom being perceived as weak.

During the council session, Rhaenyra suggests that they send out dragon riders to drive out Daemon, but she’s dismissed and tasked with choosing a replacement for the King’s guard instead. She expresses her frustrations with Alicent and wishes she were taken more seriously by everyone, including her father.

With talks of Viserys remarrying, there is a possible threat to Rhaenyra’s position as the heir. In order to strengthen the kingdom, Corlys and his wife suggest that they unify the Targaryen and Valyrian houses by marrying their pre-teen daughter to Viserys. The council also believes that this would be a good decision.
