Concept Art Reveals the Massive Size of Syrax in House of the Dragon

Syrax, the dragon of Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy), has been a mere spectacle in House of the Dragon season 1 while other dragons have unleashed their fury.

Caraxes and Vhagar have impressed the viewers with their feats on the show. Syrax may get a chance to prove her worth in the future, as the concept art from House of the Dragon reveals her formidable size.

Kirill Barybin recently shared his work on Syrax’s initial design on Instagram. Check it out below:

Syrax dwarfs a man who stands at 6 feet and 5 inches. Her face is also crafted with precision so that her sharp nose gives her a sleek appearance that suggests her incredible velocity.

House of the Dragon season 1 mainly dealt with the Targaryen family drama, so their dragons haven’t had much chance to display their power.

Apart from the clash with the Crabfeeder, they haven’t been very active. Now that the calm years are over, the dragons will finally get to unleash their fire in House of the Dragon season 2.

Vhagar has delivered the first hit against Rhaenyra and the Blacks, but Daemon (Matt Smith) is already planning to hatch and enlist new dragons.

Every dragon in House of the Dragon has a part to play in the looming war, except for poor Arrax, who fell to Vhagar in season 1.

If Syrax joins the battle with Caraxes and the other Dragonstone beasts, it could be enough to honor Arrax and tip the scales against the Greens.

Since the Greens don’t have a backup, they will need to use the mammoth Vhagar smartly.

Sadly, for the Greens, Aemond’s realization that they don’t really command the dragons will create a potential problem.

They will now know they have sparked a war that no one can win. The Targaryens and Hightowers are literally messing with fire, and House of the Dragon season 2 could see both sides ruined until nothing remains.
