Horizon Forbidden West is the sequel to the critically acclaimed Horizon Zero Dawn. Released exclusively on PS5, the game is one of the best of 2022, according to both fans and critics.
Aloy’s story continues as she embarks on a journey in the Forbidden West, meeting tribes and killing robots on the way. The graphics have improved from the first part, and the gameplay mechanics have also seen good changes. The extensive diversity in weapons compared to Zero Dawn is what has won many fans’ hearts.
We would expect Horizon Forbidden West to be nominated for a good amount of awards at gaming awards like The BAFTAs or The Game Awards. However, we would have to wait till late 2022 or early 2023 for the awards to take place.
Develop: Brighton, on the other hand, had different plans as it announced its Develop: Stars Award winners in July itself. The Develop: Brighton conference is an event specifically designed for game developers. The awards are decided on by a board made up of developers from various studios, meaning that game creators get to decide on the best games from their own perspectives.
Guerilla Games will be delighted as Horizon Forbidden West picked up the Best Game 2022 Winner. On top of that, Horizon Forbidden West also bagged Best Visual Art 2022 award.
Two Major awards already in July itself will surely delight the hardworking developers at Guerilla Games as their game outshined Deathloop, Forza Horizon 5, Life is Strange: True Colors, OlliOlli World, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Sifu, and Unpacking to grab their first Game of the Year award for 2022.
The Develop: Stars Awards awarded 20 winners across 20 various categories. The entire list of winners is given below.
