All the students battle hard to win the sports day in episode 3 of Horimiya: The Missing Pieces, titled “Sports Day.”

It was an enjoyable and fun episode with lots of quirky, cute, and wholesome moments. Hori, Ayasaki, Sakura, Tooru, and others fought hard in their respective sports to grab the win.

The clash between East and West went on till the final sport. Miyamura managed to get the win for the East. Hori and Miyamura were on opposite teams, but that didn’t stop them from cheering for each other.

3. Episode 3 Recap

The Katagiri High School Sports Day has finally arrived. Hori prepares to go for the girls’ hurdle race. Ayasaki engages Hori in some conversation and says that if she wins, Miyamura will belong to her.

This distracts Hori, and the race starts. Ayasaki rushes ahead. Hori starts to lack behind and gets demotivated. Miyamuri stands up and cheers for her. She starts running fast and ends at number 4.

After the race, Ayasaki tells Hori that she and Miyamura are so cute that she can’t make herself steal him away. Miyamura meets Hori. She gets angry at him but also thanks him for cheering for her.

Izumi and Tooru see Sawada going for the tug-of-war. Sawada losses and cries to Hori about it. Ishikawa participates in the balance race. Everyone cheers high and loud for him.

He and Syu Iura end the race with a tie. All the girls come up for the cheer competition. Hori and her team cheer for the East, winning all the girls’ hearts, and Ayasaki and her team cheer for the West, winning all the boys’ hearts.

Sakura tries hard to keep up with everyone and manages to do it well. She goes to Yoshikawa and thanks her for her help. Miyamura gets called by his teacher and is told to participate in the scavenger hunt in place of someone else.

Miyamura and Hori meet on the track. They both get confused after picking up their chits. Suddenly, both of them start pulling Sengoku. Both of them finish the race at the same time.

It is time for the mock cavalry battle. Miyamura and Sengoku get on top of their respective teammates and fight each other to get their ribbons. After a long struggle, Miyamura manages to pull off Sengoku’s, winning the day for the East.

Ayasaki is sad about their loss, but Sakura tries to cheer her up. Miyamura meets Hori after the day and finds her wearing her cheerleading outfit. He calls her cute, making her blush, and runs away.

Miyamura thinks that it might be his first and last sports day, and he is happy that it was fun.
