Horimiya is an upcoming January 2021 romance winter anime. Based on the manga of the same name, the franchise previously received 4 OVA episodes in 2012, 2014, 2015, and 2018 before the confirmation of the TV anime in September 2020.
The story of Horimiya revolves around Kyouko Hori and Izumi Miyamura, two classmates with polar personalities. Hori, an ideal student on the surface, lacks socialization outside of school.
Miyamura, who looks like a glass-wearing nerd, is actually a gentle person with nine piercings and a neck tattoo hiding behind his long hair.
Through a series of events, the two become close friends, sharing a side of them unknown to everyone else.

Horimiya will release on January 9, 2021, according to the announcement made on Horimiya Official Website. It will air on BS11, Gunma TV, Tochigi TV, and Tokyo MX.

CloverWorks, the studio responsible for anime like Darling in the FranXX and The Promised Neverland, is responsible for the production of Horimiya under the direction of Masashi Ishihama.
2. Visuals & Trailers
Two key visuals have been released for Horimiya 2021 anime. They’re an introduction to the vast cast.
Key visual 1 introduces Hori and Miyamura and their friendship, hinting towards a budding romance.
Key visuals 2 introduces the supporting cast along with the MCs of the anime: (Left-Right) Remi Ayasaki, Kakeru Sengoku, Sakura Kouno, Izumi Miyamura, Kyouko Hori, Tooru Ishikawa, Shuu Iura, Yuki Yoshikawa, and Akane Yanagi.
Three promotional videos have been released.
PV 1 shows us a glimpse of Hori and Miyamura’s first meeting (outside of school) and how different the two look and act from their school self.
PV 2 and 3 are from the perspective of Yuki Yoshikawa & Toru Ishikawa and Kakeru & Sakura, the protagonist’s classmates. They notice how Hori Miya have grown close and the little changes in their behaviors.

Horimiya san to Miyamura kun is a manga by HERO. The manga will be getting an anime adaptation in January 2021.
Kyoko Hori is the school’s smart and popular girl who is quite the opposite of the shy and gloomy Miyamura. Both of them have their own secrets.
While Hori struggles with taking care of herself and her younger brother, Souta, Miyamura constantly hides all his piercings and tattoos. They discover each other’s personal lives and begin to get closer.
