On the other hand, Miyuki also stunned everyone by using midrange area oscillation magic and burning her opponent’s ice blocks all at once with blazing hellfire.
The episode couldn’t get more interesting when Airi apologized to Miyuki and openly declared that she would not lose to them in the competition.

Episode 9 Preview & Speculation
In the next episode, Airi will play against Miyuki in the Mirage Bat event. We already know how insanely powerful Miyuki is and what level she is on.
Not to ignore, she is one the strongest magicians of her age, and even the most significant magicians have acknowledged her powers.
Airi, on the other hand, also possesses excellent magic powers. Hence, it’s pretty difficult to predict who will win the match.
Moreover, if Shiori wins the match against Eimi, both the teams will be at the same level. In that case, the final results will solely depend on Miyuki and Airi’s competition, therefore increasing their pressure to win.
The Nine Schools Competition arc has surely paved the way for a lot of drama. Nevertheless, the next episode is going to be interesting as we will see the much-awaited Miyuki and Airi’s face-off in the official mirage bat event.

Episode 8 Recap
In the First High celebratory meeting, Miyuki learns that Tatsuya has refused to be named in the index.
Later that day, she asks Tatsuya if he refused because of their family name, ‘Yotsuba.’ When Tatsuya agrees, Miyuki apologizes for not being able to do anything.
On day two of the Rookie Events, Subaru of First High competes against Airi of Third High in the Women’s cloudball tournament. Airi uses her magic ‘Éclair Lightning’ and creates lightning-fast movement spells to dominate the Crowd Ball competition.
Eventually, she wins the competition. Later, Honoka learns Airi’s body moves even before she can see, with the necklace CAD that she wears around. She is amazed to know that Airi possesses such a magic.
Next, Shiori of Third High competes against Nanami of First High in the ice-breaking tournament and wins by crushing all of her opponent’s ice pillars.
Simultaneously, Anju Shinozaki of Third High competes against Eimi of First High, where Eimi emerges as the winner. Finally, the moment that everyone had been waiting for arrives when Miyuki of First High takes her position at the podium.
Miyuki uses midrange area oscillation magic and burns her opponent’s ice blocks all at once with blazing hellfire while protecting her own ice blocks. Everyone is stunned to see that a high-schooler can use such a level of magic.
Meanwhile, Eimi is worried about her match with Shiori the next day. The same day, while heading out of the dinner hall, the First High team meets the Third High team. Airi steps forward and apologizes to Miyuki for being rude to her on their first day.
She then openly declares that she will defeat their team. Miyuki wishes her luck and says that she also won’t lose.
