Honobu Yonezawa’s Shoushimin Mystery Novel Anime Adaptation Trailer Released

The much-awaited return of Honobu Yonezawa, the mastermind behind the beloved mystery slice-of-life show Hyouka, is here with a fresh and intriguing mystery series, Shoushimin (How to Become Ordinary). This novel series is the inspiration for a thrilling television anime adaptation that is set to grace the channel’s NUMAnimation block in the exciting month of July.

As the new trailer for Shoushimin dropped on June 8, 2024, the excitement among fans was palpable. The anticipation for another masterpiece from Honobu Yonezawa was at its peak, setting the stage for a thrilling anime series.

Exciting Shoushimin Trailer For The Fans

After the end of HyoukaShoushimin is the first anime adaptation of Honobu Yonezawa. This upcoming anime is scheduled for July 6, 2024, and Lapin Track will look after the animation works.

The story follows two teenagers, Jōgorō Kobato and Yuki Osanai, who aspire to live simple lives as lower middle-class citizens. However, they find themselves embroiled in a series of bizarre and inexplicable events, challenging their pursuit of normalcy. The teaser introduces us to the two main characters of the anime and gives us a glimpse at the story.

Staff, Cast and Key Visual Also Released

Apart from the trailer, the main cast and staff were also revealed. The anime is directed by Mamoru Kanbe, known for his work on Elfen LiedThe Promised Neverland, and You and Me. Toshiya Ono, the series script overseer, has worked on The Promised NeverlandShadows House, and 86. Atsushi Saitō, the character designer, has lent his talent to Black Fox and Love Live! Superstar!!. Takahiro Obata, the composer, has created music for Cinderella Nine and The Promised Neverland.

The anime will star Shūichirō Umeda as Jōgorō Kobato and Hina Yomiya as Yuki Osanai, the protagonists of the story featured in the key visual of the anime.

Get ready for the anime adaptation of the intriguing novels in the series, including the Shunki Gentei Ichigo Tart Jiken (The Case of the Springtime Limited-Edition Strawberry Tart) and Kaki Gentei Tropical Parfait Jiken (The Case of the Summertime Limited-Edition Tropical Parfait).

These novels, published by Tokyo Sogensha, are just the beginning. The series also includes the two Shuki Gentei Kuri Kinton Jiken (The Case of the Autumn-time Limited-Edition Candied Chestnuts and Sweet Potatoes) books and the Paris Macaron no Nazo (The Mystery of the Paris Macaron) book, along with other non-compiled stories.
