Devin Ratray, famed for portraying the scary big brother to Macaulay Culkin’s Kevin in the first two Home Alone movies, was arrested for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend.
The actor, 44, who portrayed Buzz McAllister in the classic Christmas movies of 1990 and 1992, was in Oklahoma City earlier this month for OKC’s Pop Christmas Con event called “Buzzed With Buzz.”
Ratray surrendered to authorities in Oklahoma on Wednesday and was booked on two domestic assault and battery complaints.
Local news outlet KFOR first published the details of the affidavit shared by Oklahoma County District Attorney David Prater.
The report also mentions that Assistant District Attorney Stephanie Powers filed the charges in Oklahoma County District Court this Tuesday on December 21.
Ratray’s girlfriend, who is not named, was interviewed by Detective Joseph Burnett of the Oklahoma City Police Department.
The report states that the pair went to Mickey Mantle’s Steakhouse, where Ratray drank alcohol, and his girlfriend said she believed he was intoxicated by the time they went to Coyote Ugly Saloon, where he drank ten more shots.
The actor got angry at his girlfriend when she gave away free signed autograph cards to two women who had approached the couple, asking for Ratray’s autograph. They had an altercation at the Coyote Ugly, and the argument continued when they went back to the hotel they were staying at.
The affidavit states that Ratray pushed his girlfriend on the room’s bed and choked her while saying, “This is how you die.”
Burnett’s report reads, “[The] victim had trouble breathing while she was being strangled and while the defendant’s hand was over her mouth.”
It also mentions that Ratray punched her in the face at one point and pushed her against a desk. The incident resulted in the victim suffering multiple injuries, including bruises and marks on and around her eyes, lips, chest, and right arm.
Fox News later confirmed that Ratray had “turned himself in and was processed through and bonded out.” Ratray was released with his bond set at $25,000.
His attorney Scott Adams said, “Mr. Ratray denies he ever laid a hand on her or did anything in regards to anything like that.”
Ratray is best known for Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. The actor reprised his role on the Disney+ reboot Home Sweet Home Alone, which debuted last month.
