Hogwarts Legacy: Collection Chest Locations in the Highlands

Hogwarts Legacy is the best game set in the wizarding world so far. With elements from the books, movies, and new features, the role-playing game manifests our dream of attending Hogwarts as a fifth-year student and gives us a magical life filled with adventures and missions.

In the game, several quests, side-missions, and battles provide us with items to add to our gear. However, to decorate and add to the Room of Requirement, we need Conjurations that can only be acquired from Collection Chests. These Chests also provide several Attribute Traits and add items to our gear.

There are 117 Collection Chests in the Highlands, spread out over the South Hogwarts Region, North Hogwarts Region, Hogsmeade Valley, Hogwarts Valley, Forbidden Forest, Cragcroftshire, Feldcroft Region, and other locations.  

1. Where are the Collection Chests in the South Hogwarts Region?

In Hogwarts Legacy, there are 9 Collection Chests in the South Hogwarts Region. They are found in Lower Hogsfield, Aranshire, and the Aranshire Bandit Camp.

I. Lower Hogsfield Collection Chests

In Lower Hogsfield, there are three Collection Chests:

1. Beside the submerged cart in the shallow pond next to the houses.
2. On a small crate behind a house north of the merchant Jalal.
3. Next to the front door and inside the house at the southeast end of the hamlet.

The first two Collection Chests in Lower Hogsfield yield Wand Handle Cosmetics, while the third yields a Conjuration Recipe.

II. Aranshire Collection Chests

In Aranshire, there are four Collection Chests:

1. Under the rubble of the stone wall that encloses a vegetable garden between two houses at the north edge of the town.
2. Next to the front door and inside the house that lies right of the vegetable garden to the northeast of the hamlet.
3. In the small tiny shack on the east of the hamlet and a Legendary Chest lies next to it. It is beside the previous house, and the fourth Collection Chest location is in the house on the other side of it.
4. In the second floor main bedroom of the house, which is near the shopkeeper and lies southeast of the town.

The first three Collection Chests in Aranshire yield Conjuration Recipes, while the last one yields a Wand handle Cosmetic.

III. Aranshire Bandit Camp Collection Chest

In Aranshire Bandit Camp, there is only one Collection Chest. It is in a Medium Bandit Camp filled with Ashwinder Dark Wizards in the hills to the East of Aranshire. The Chest is under the planks of the tented wooden walkway to the South of the Camp.

2. Where are the Collection Chests in Hogsmeade Valley?

In Hogwarts Legacy, there are 8 Collection Chests in Hogsmeade Valley. They are found in Upper Hogsfield, Lower Northern Bandit Camp, and Upper Northern Bandit Camp.

I. Upper Hogsfield Collection Chests

In Upper Hogsfield, there are four Collection Chests:

1. Behind a screen in the corner of the house where Dorothy Sprottle works. It is close to the Upper Hogsfield Floo Flame, and the house can be entered through an unlocked door.
2. Inside a tiny shack in the farmlands along the east edge of the hamlet.
3. Behind a thin wall inside the house next to the one housing the first Collection Chest. It is on the road towards a large building that contains barrels.
4. Inside the building at the center of town behind Claire Beaumont’s stall. The chest lies in the corner of the room.

The first two Collection Chests in Upper Hogsfield yield Wand Handle Cosmetics, while the other two yield Conjuration Recipes.

II. Lower Northern Bandit Camp Collection Chest

In Lower Northern Bandit Camp, there is only one Collection Chest. The Camp lies north of Upper Hogsfield and is across the river on the high plateau above the North Ford Bog. The Chest is inside the main tent at the north end of the Bandit Camp.

III. Upper Northern Bandit Camp Collection Chest

In Upper Northern Bandit Camp also, there is only one Collection Chest. The Camp is above the Lower Northern Bandit Camp along a minecart track. The Collection Chest lies under boxes north of the Camp near a raised walkway. There is a red explosive barrel nearby.

3. Where are the Collection Chests in North Hogwarts Region?

In Hogwarts Legacy, there are 7 Collection Chests in the North Hogwarts Region. They are found in The Collector’s Cave, Southern Small Bandit Camp, East North Small Bandit Camp, Northwest Small Bandit Camp, Korrow Ruins Bandit Camp, and Korrow Ruins.

I. The Collector’s Cave Collection Chest

In The Collector’s Cave, there is only one Collection Chest. During the main quest, The Helm of Urtkot, in the puzzle tomb, before destroying the floor to go down to a secret path, there is a chamber to the side having two alcoves. The Chest lies in the right alcove.

II. Southern Small Bandit Camp Collection Chest

In Southern Small Bandit Camp, there is only one Collection Chest. The Camp lies north of the Forbidden Forest Floo Flame, on the left side of the river, while heading north towards the Forest. The Chest lies in a small tent.

III. East North Small Bandit Camp Collection Chest

The East North Small Bandit Camp also has only one Collection Chest. The Camp lies west to the East North Hogwarts Floo Flame and is on the north side of the river, south of Jackdaw’s Tomb. This Chest is also inside a small tent.

The Collection Chest in East North Small Bandit Camp yields an Attribute Trait.

IV. Northwest Small Bandit Camp Collection Chest

In Northwest Small Bandit Camp also, there is only one Collection Chest. The Camp lies close to the East North Bandit Camp, further west of the river. It is on a high cliff close to a Niffler Den. The Chest is again in a small tent.

The Collection Chest in Northwest Small Bandit Camp also yields an Attribute Trait.

V. Korrow Ruins Bandit Camp Castle Collection Chests

In Korrow Ruins Bandit Camp Castle, there are two Collection Chests:

1. In the antechamber near the Korrow Ruins Floo Flame in the Camp. The Chest lies to the left before the outdoor pit.
2. In the corner of the room above the south entrance from inside Korrow Ruins.

VI. Korrow Ruins Collection Chest

In Korrow Ruins, there is only one Collection Chest. It is in a dungeon in the depth of the Ruins and is home to a powerful enemy. The dungeon can be accessed through the back entrance of the ruins west of the Korrow Ruins Bandit Camp Castle.

The Chest is in an alcove on the upper balcony on the right of the dungeon. The stone walls of the alcove will open to reveal treasures, including the Chest.

4. Where are the Collection Chests in the Forbidden Forest?

In Hogwarts Legacy, there are 6 Collection Chests in the Forbidden Forest. They are found in Horklump Hollow and other dungeons and Bandit Camps.

I. Horklump Hollow Collection Chest

In Horklump Hollow, there is only one Collection Chest. During A Friend in Deed side quest, after destroying the wooden barricades and dropping down to a lower level, there is a cavern entrance behind. The Chest lies in this cavern.

5. How many Collection Chests are there in each Highlands Region in Hogwarts Legacy?

There are 117 Collection Chests in the Highlands in Hogwarts Legacy. They are spread throughout the area, and a single Region can have several Chests. The number of Collection Chests in each Region are:

6. About Hogwarts Legacy

Hogwarts Legacy is an open-world RPG from Avalanche Studio. The game places the player in the wizarding school of Hogwarts, allowing them to witness the iconic locations as a character other than Harry Potter. 

The game has an expansive map that makes the game very immersive, even for people who are yet to read the books or watched the movie.

The mysterious, gripping storyline, with the vast areas to explored, either on foot or broomstick, makes it even more real life.
