Hitman 3 New Location Import Function to Be Ready Soon

The latest entry to the “World of Assassination” trilogy, Hitman 3 has been very well received by critics and players alike. Metacritic has given it a score of 87 with player reviewers being widely positive. It’s only been held back by the absence of IO Interactive’s promise of allowing Hitman 1 and Hitman 2 owners to import the maps into the new game at no extra cost. And that’s going to change soon.

While this feature has been seamless on console versions of the game, it faced some challenges on the PC as Hitman 3 is an Epic Store exclusive title while Hitman 2 is available only on Steam. The studio had initially tried to placate the players with a Hitman 2 “Access Pass” at a discounted rate and the backlash they faced pushed IO to state that they will figure out a method to make the system work.

The feature would allow players to use the maps from the previous two games in Hitman 3, adding hours of content to the game. While it has been some time since Hitman 3 released, IO Interactive has now stated that the location import feature should be available to players by the end of this month. The studio said in their update,

“Whilst we’ve been busy launching Hitman 3, we’ve also been working on the promised solution for allowing PC players to import locations that they already own into Hitman 3 on Epic. We’ve got that solution worked out and it’s currently being tested and verified from all angles to make it as robust as possible. In terms of timing, it’s definitely a case of sooner rather than later. Even with the longest estimates we’ve looked at, the solution will be fully rolled out before the end of February. We’ll keep you updated with the next steps.”
