Hiromu Arakawa’s Yomi no Tsugai is Confirmed to Receive an Anime Adaptation

Fullmetal Alchemist fans must have been aware of the blessing that is the author- Hiromu Arakawa. Without her, the wonderful world of Alchemists wouldn’t have been possible. After claiming the crown of the best manga series, her other work, ‘Yomi no Tsugai,’ is all set to receive an anime adaptation.

The official confirmation is yet to arrive with all the detailed information. But the news was confirmed through the legal documents filed by Square Enix. Fans can rejoice as they will get to relish the new world of Arakawa once again.

As said, the official announcement of the anime is yet to be out, so there is no other information regarding the studio or staff. All the information about the anime will come out in due time, so fans may have to wait a bit. But there is a common notion that Studio Bones might animate the said project.

This estimate came from the logic that Square Enix is a famous company behind publishing some famous manga series like Fullmetal Alchemist. The series had been adapted by Studio Bones, so it can be assumed that the new series will also receive the Bones treatment.

Yuru no Tsugai, or the Daemons of the Shadow Realm, follows the tale of twins in the mystical world of Daemons. Yuru is a hunter, spending his days in nature while Asa is held at the dungeon, forced to fulfill her duty. Since the twins were born on a special day, they were separated due to a superstitious belief.

One day, when an armed group attacks their village, Yuru meets up with someone who claims to be his long-lost sister, Asa. Before Yuru can get captured by the attackers, he is saved by a man who gives him a ‘special power.’ Now, it’s up to Yuru to unravel the secrets behind his seemingly quiet village and his sister’s enslavement.

Hiromu Arakawa is famously known for her other acclaimed work ‘Fullmetal Alchemist.’ This manga series was serialized in Square Enix’s monthly Shōnen Gangan between July 2001 and June 2010. This manga was both a domestic and international hit with two anime adaptations.

Fullmetal Alchemist, set in the fictitious world of Alchemy, centers around the adventures of the Elric brothers. The brothers try to perform the taboo ‘human transmutation’ to bring back their mother but suffer from an irreversible loss in the process.
