The 2020 Olympics is going to be a grand event which pits players against each other in high octane competitions for many sports. The Olympics this year will be held in Tokyo and starting the hype, the Official Poster for the Paralympic event has been released.
Created by Hirohiko Araki (creator of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure), the official poster for the 2020 Paralympics, titled “The Sky Above the Great Wave off the Coast of Kanagawa”, contains many JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure references and easter eggs.
The poster is in the first-person perspective of a competitor in a great race above the clouds. As we see two others in the lead, the outlook is of the current third place in the race.
The faces of the athletes aren’t very visible. However, they strongly resemble characters from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. The Blonde racer has a strong resemblance to DIO, and the decorations on the shorts and prosthetics are of The World, a stance that Dio uses.
The other racer has two decorative clips in their green hair; one of the Stone Mask and the other of Giorno Giovanna’s Stand Gold Experience. One of their prosthetics has the cat-face of the Stand Killer Queen. Flying in front of them is a biplane, Narancia’s Aerosmith Stand.
Hirohiko has previously drawn the poster for the National Disabled Persons Sports Festival in 2016.
