The original Fairy Tail manga is set to return with a special revival one-shot manga next month. This series, which concluded its run with Kondasha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 2017, has been eagerly anticipated by fans. The series creator, Hiro Mashima, renowned for his other successful projects like Edens Zero and Dead Rock, has also been overseeing an official sequel to Fairy Tail, Fairy Tail: 100 Year Quest. As the sequel manga gears up for its anime debut this July, the original manga is making a thrilling comeback with a new revival chapter.
The excitement is building as Kodansha announced that Hiro Mashima’s Fairy Tail’s new one-shot will be released in this year’s 31st issue of Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine on July 3, 2024. The anticipation is tangible as Kodansha shared on their Twitter account videos of advertisements running in Japan to promote Mashima’s works, which include pictures and a video of special advertisements about Mashima’s works that are on display at Gokukuji Station in Tokyo, alongside ads for the June 26 conclusion of Edens Zero.
The announcement does not reveal the premise of the one-shot or include any detail of how many pages fans might get to see in this new revival one-shot. Despite this, Mashima has a lot going on with his other series, Edens Zero, which concludes on June 26, 2024, as well as the Fairy Tail: The 100 Year Quest sequel anime, which premieres on July 7, 2024.
With the upcoming end of the Edens Zero manga, Kodansha has announced there’s a lot more to celebrate for creator Hiro Mashima. Fairy Tail’s sequel manga, Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest, is also getting an adaptation of its own starting this July. The sequel will premiere on July 7, 2024, and the original staff and cast will return.
