Mion murmurs about Rika being part of Oyashiro-sama’s curse as she is the head of one of the three great families of Hinamizawa.

She behaves in an insane way making Keiichi almost lose his balance. Chie-sensei interrupts the whole situation and sends the kids back home.

Mion calls Keiichi to meet up at the waterwheels and upon arriving she takes him to her house. At her home, Keiichi apologizes for entering the shrine on the night of the festival to which Mion replies by saying she was well aware of the situation.

Keiichi feels sad and apologetic and asks Mion if the curse is in-fact real or not. Mion informs the curse is just a cover up to hide the crimes of evil people doing evil deeds.

Mion later takes Keiichi to her uncle’s safe room in the basement of their property and shoves him inside, locking him in.

She informs that it is the only way to keep him safe. She blames the whole curse on the Three Great Families and plans to kill them in order to stop the tradition from being repeated.

She confesses her love for Keiichi and leaves him locked in the safe room. Keiichi witnesses Mion yielding a gun and shouts at her to stop before she does anything stupid.

Keiichi tries to break the door by repeatedly banging his head against it, but fails and ends up fainting with a concussion and a pool of blood flowing from his head.

He is later rescued by the police and they take him to the hospital. After being discharged Keiichi meets up with Oiishi-san who informs him of Mion and Satoko’s demise.

He also informs that they found bodies of Shion, Oryo-san and Kimiyoshi-san in an underground well of the prison. With some skeletal remains dating back to 10 years.

Keiichi also finds out about Rika’s body found in a septic tank in the school’s outhouse. Oiishi-san leaves Keiichi telling him to expect further questions later.

Keiichi is left to question Mion’s true motive as the episode comes to an end.
