In the very first scene of Episode 6, Detective Ooishi stops the villagers from harming the goons. He calms the situation and Shion tells the police that the rowdy guys were trying to extort money from Keiichi. Keiichi catches Shion glaring at the police car as it leaves.
Later, Keiichi, Shion and Mion cross paths with Tomitake-san and Takano-san and they discuss about the failed dam project and how it affected Hinamizawa.
They also talk about some possible deaths from the Oyashiro-sama curse on the night of Watanagashi festival every year.
Shion and Keiichi later spy on Tomitake and Takano trying to break into a forbidden storehouse only to get involved with them and attempt to break in.

1. Episode 7 Release Date
Episode 7 of the Higurashi 2020 anime, titled “Cotton-Deceiving Chapter, Part 3”, has been released on Thursday, Nov 12, 2020 at 11:30 pm PDT.
The anime series is confirmed to have two cours. The first cour will contain 14 episodes broadcasting from October of 2020 to January of 2021.

Episode 5 ends with Tomitake, Takano, Keiichi and Shion trying to break into the forbidden storehouse of the Furude family.
The broken open lock of the storehouse might have something to do with Tomitake and Takano-san being missing the very next day of the Watanagashi festival.
Fans wonder why the villagers are on edge upon the mention of Oyashiro-sama’s curse and what happens to Keiichi after he is hospitalized.
3. Episode 6 Recap
After being rescued by the police Keiichi and Shion go to Angle Mort and talk about the people of Hinamizawa. Shion explains the villagers were on edge a moment prior because of how protective they feel of each other.
She informs Keiichi about the Hinamizawa Dam Project and how the villagers stood up against police brutality to stop the dam project from flooding their village.
Shion talks about the story with passion which clearly indicates that she holds the village and the people living in it in high regards.
Shion calls Keiichi the next day to taste test Angle Mort food and he gladly agrees to the invitation.
Returning home, the two run into Mion working in a toy store and Keiichi finds out that it was Shion who had called him instead of Mion. He also finds out that the twins don’t really get along.
On June 6th, Keiichi helps the villagers prepare for the Watanagashi festival. Keiichi chats with Shion and Mion when Tomitake and Takano interrupt their conversation.
The two introduce themselves to Keiichi when Ooishi-san arrives at the scene. Shion tells him to work hard to prevent any mishaps from happening the night of the Watanagashi festival.
Mion does not want Keiichi to listen to the stories about Oyashiro-sama’s curse but the Keiichi seems enthusiastic so Mion leaves him there.
The four talk about the curse and how people who supported the dam project ended up dying. The Oyashiro-sama’s curse seems to be a hoax under which someone or some people have been killing others who were opposing the villagers.
The night of Watanagashi festival, Shion and Keiichi spy on Tomitake and Takano trying to break into a forbidden storehouse. The two are caught and end up trying to break into the storehouse as well.
