A dragon enters the grounds of the Academy and proves a new friend for Blade in episode 3 of Hero Classroom titled “Cu Chulainn.”

A mythical beast that is much stronger than almost all humans enters the school and starts destroying property, forcing Blade to take it out with one hit. He recognizes it as a very young and confused dragon, so he treats it carefully.

Soon, it imprints on Blade and transforms into the form of a human girl. She starts following him around and considers him a parent, forcing him to take her in and care for her as she grows up.

Blade sits with Ernest during lunch break, and all his friends join them at the table now after their fear of Anna has reduced. However, their meal is interrupted by the stomps of a magical beast that the King brings into school for training purposes.

The colossal dragon walks into the Palace grounds, and Blade casually walks up to it and knocks it to the ground. He recognizes it as just a scared young dragon, putting it down and giving it some food. Before he realizes it, the dragon shrinks into a little girl who jumps and clings to Blade.

She starts recognizing him as her parent, and he takes her home and even gives her a name, Cu Chulainn. Ernest Walks in later while they’re in the bath and finds that it’s an innate character of mythical high-level beasts like dragons that take the form of the being that vanquishes them.

Ernest and the other friends start getting annoyed with Blade’s behavior with Cu. While she remains extremely clingy, she starts wandering around the Academy alone, pitying all the weakling humans. At nighttime, Blade tucks her into bed and even makes her dinner.

Sophie and Ernest properly discuss his intentions with the Blade about the child since he genuinely wants to care for her. Cu behaves just like a child, roleplaying situations with her toys and leaving a mess around the room. However, she has a much higher intelligence than any other child and can remember everyone in the school.

After observing her, Cu realizes she needs friends, not just a parent. Unfortunately, dragons have an innate nature to never accept anyone weaker than them as friends, so Blade begs all the people in the school to challenge the dragon to a fight and win, to have her as a friend.

Ultimately, they all accept his request, and Cu comes to the grounds in dragon form. All the humans gather together to fight, and with the lead of Ernest, they all wield their weapons and move into battle.

Hero Classroom also known as Classroom of Heroes is a light novel series written by Shin Araki and illustrated by Haruyuki Morisawa, first published in Shueisha’s seinen manga magazine Ultra Jump between February and August 2015. A manga adaptation by Koara Kishida has been serialized since 2016 via Square Enix’s Monthly Shonen Gangan.
