Sony created a never-seen-before buzz in the gaming community by finally revealing a release date for the highly anticipated God of War Ragnarok. Eager fans have already marked their calendars and sorted out their finances to make sure they are the first in line to obtain the Norse title when it releases on November 9.
Frankly, can enthusiasts even be blamed for this?! The prospect of fighting the God of Thunder, Thor, and a vengeful Freya is mouthwatering, to say the least.
Moreover, Santa Monica has made every realm of the Norse lore available to players for exploration. Each location brims with mystery, charm, and terror, further solidifying the game’s sought-after status.
Now, with confusion regarding the game’s release out of the way, Sony is putting the spotlight on other details that are going to get the fans excited. One such depicts what each realm in Ragnarok would look like courtesy of a special edition’s cloth map.
Besides offering a plethora of goodies, God of War Ragnarok’s fancy Jotnar Edition also includes a special cloth map that provides the first look at all the nine realms of Norse mythology featuring in the game.
Following are the nine realms that feature on the map from bottom to top:
- Helheim
- Nifleheim
- Muspelheim
- Svartalheim
- Midgard
- Vanaheim
- Alfheim
- Jotunheim
- Asgard
As one would expect from a title as ambitious as this, even the cloth map teems with interesting information. If you look closely at Muspelheim, you’ll spot a mysterious silhouette which many assume is Surtur, a fire demon and the Lord of Muspelheim.
On top of this, if you’ll focus on Asgard, the dwelling place of Thor, you will be able to see the burning rainbow bridge known as Bifrost at work.
Nidhogg, whose head and shoulders above the World Serpent from the previous title, is also present around the compass, entangled in the roots of a tree, at the bottom of the map.
It is due to such great attention to detail that enthusiasts cannot wait for God of War Ragnarok to come any sooner. As for the other clues on this cloth map, you will be able to delve into them for yourself as soon as the title releases this November and concludes Kratos and Atreus’ Norse journey.
