Elden Ring is one of the biggest games of this year. The fantasy action RPG is a top contender for the Game of the Year award at several platforms. Even though it has not even been a year since the game was launched, the hype is still as good as new.
The Game Awards recently tweeted a question, asking people their preferred games that they would like to see premier at The Game Awards. The overwhelming number of responses hoping for Elden Ring DLC caused the phrase to trend.
Usually, FromSoftware releases its games’ DLC about 7-8 months after the initial launch. With a game as big as Elden Ring, it can even take longer. Even though an Elden Ring DLC has not been officially confirmed, fans are surely hoping for one.
Obviously, anyone’s first response upon seeing Elden Ring DLC trending on Twitter would think that FromSoftware has finally announced it. So, you can imagine people’s disappointment when they found out the reality.
Even if FromSoftware is developing Elden Ring DLC, there are a ton of ways they could proceed further: exploring Miquella’s story and lore, adding colosseums and new PvP features, delving into Godfrey’s arc, or finally revealing the story of the Gloam-Eyed Queen. After all, Elden Ring is a massive story with endless side stories.
The Game Awards would be the perfect stage for Elden Ring, which has infamously passed on many shows since its official reveal in 2019. It would be nice to see Elden Ring getting the recognition it deserves.
Elden Ring is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
