Henry Cavill opened up about the Man of Steel moment he regrets, in The Hollywood Reporter’s latest issue.
Man of Steel was released in 2013 and gave Cavill his breakthrough in the Hollywood industry. The actor debuted as Superman, wowing fans with his physical allure, poise, and, not to forget – the black curly hair with a sharp jawline.
Even though the movie gave him much-deserved fame, Cavill shared a scene in the 2013 movie that always makes him question himself.
The scene is an emotional and a silent moment towards the end of the movie, where Clark Kent flashes a reassuring smile to his mother, Martha Kent.
The scene focuses on Clark wondering about living double lives in the future as he stands beside his father’s grave. He looks at his mother and smiles. A smile Cavill now regrets.
There’s a scene at the end of Man of Steel, I’m talking to Martha. I would’ve smiled differently. Every time I see it, I’m like, ‘That’s an irritating smile.’ I just don’t like it. Why did I smile like that? That’s not how I smile. That I would have done it differently.

As per ComicBook, Cavill also revealed that Superman’s storyline holds much potential, especially after killing the last of his species, Zod.
There’s an opportunity for growth after that, to explore the psyche of Superman as a deep, seemingly invulnerable god-like being but with real feeling on the inside. As I always say, ‘The cape is still in the closet.’

Since Man of Steel, Cavill played the caped superhero thrice in multiple movies. Cavill’s freakishly amazing physique and acting talent led him to bag major roles in Mission: Impossible – Fallout and even The Witcher.
Meanwhile, a Man of Steel 2 would definitely take way longer than imagined. Netflix renewed The Witcher for season 3, and multiple projects – including a Highlander reboot – are lined up for the actor.
