Henry Cavill is all set to reunite with director Guy Ritchie for a new World War II action film titled The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.
Cavill has previously worked with Guy Ritchie on his much-acclaimed film, The Man from U.N.C.L.E. He played the role of Napoleon Solo, a secret agent from the 60s similar to James Bond.
In the recent years, Cavill has been taking up quite a few experimental roles, including Sherlock Holmes in the Enola Holmes franchise and Gerald of Rivia in The Witcher. He also starred alongside Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible – Fallout.
For his next big-screen project, Cavill will be seen reuniting with his Man from U.N.C.L.E director, Guy Ritchie to star in an action film set during World War II. According to reports by The Deadline, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare will focus on the real-life story of Winston Churchill and Ian Fleming’s secret combat organization.
The secret organization was dedicated to employing “ungentlemanly” tactics to defeat and tackle the Nazis. Apart from Cavill, the film will also star Eiza Gonzalez of Baby Driver fame. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Ritchie are thinking on expanding it as a franchise. The cast will begin filming for the project in January 2023.
Apart from The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, Cavill will also be seen in Argylle, another spy-drama. He will also star in a romantic drama, The Rosie Project, that follows a college professor trying to find a wife with the help of a questionnaire. Moreover, The Witcher will also return to Netflix in 2023.
The biggest news concerning Cavill’s upcoming projects is that Warner Bros. might finally be ready to make Man of Steel 2, with Henry Cavill as Superman. Recently, Cavill made a surprise cameo in Black Adam, which marked his big-screen return to the DCEU.
Whether or not Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam will fight Cavill’s Superman remains to be seen, but The Rock seems determined to make it happen sooner or later. Therefore, Henry Cavill fans have a lot to look forward to in the upcoming months. Hopefully, it will all be worth the wait.
